More jazzy fusion - still difficult :-)

Hi,

My last fusion tune was met with positive reviews so I thought I'd post the one I finished earlier today.

This is a tune I have been working on for about a year but got stuck and didn't know what to do with it. Now finally I found the inspiration to fix it so here it is. I must say that the playing suggestions I got from some forumites helped some but I still have a lot to learn when it comes to this kind of music.
Suggestions on how to improve sound and/or playing is always welcome.

Jaw dropping! I'm still listening and still stunned. Absolutely incredible composition and arrangement!!! I love the B3. :dude

May be my cheezy speakers, but the mix sounded a little muffled and the guitar was a little too far out in the mix. (Different reverb on the guitar?) OK, I'm done being critical...back to listening. WOW!:D

Regarding the sound I have listened and analyzed. I'm both my speaker and my headphones the mix sounds ok. I'm not sure however that translates into other listening environments. I have mixed this tune on the same speakers as all the other tunes I have posted here. I did however use another reverb that I'm not used to and that could be the reason. The guitar used the same reverb as the other instruments but with a little more level in the sends. I also added some delay. That could account for the things you note. Thanks for letting me know.

What are you using for backings? MIDI and Sound Fonts?

EricT - Thanks for the kind words. I wouldn't mind releasing a CD but the problem is that I don't know any company dealing in this sort of music.

Regarding how I create my backings this is the story. I use Cubase SX 3 and use a number of VSTi instruments. Battery 2 for drums. Sometimes I use Groove Agent. Steinberg The Grand for piano. Lounge Lizard 2 for Rhodes. Broomstick Bass for bass when I don't record it myself. B4 for Hammond sounds. For synths I use FM7, Absynth 2, Superwave P8 (freeware) and Pro-53. I record the VSTi using a MIDI keyboard and then record guitar and bass on top of that. Everything going direct. Except vocals for which I wait until everyone is out of the house.

I am truly flattered!

Check out this one:

- If you check my new tune "Piercing Tele...." the intro is played with a Tele and doing that "volume pedal" effect without a volume pedal.....(it takes some LONG fingers).

The inspiration came from your previous fusion track ! :D
