Great! I am working on an Indian/Rock fusion composition now as well and this was very inspirational...

Is this for real?

This question has been asked before with Tedm's posts. I don't think anyone really knows for sure.

Tedm,
When I listen to the track, I'm not sure I really hear much Indian influence (and I'm not gonna even pretend to know what Bhangra is) as the solo guitar parts sound like pretty straight ahead pentatonic licks to me. The recording sounds a bit imbalanced (I'd mix the guitar back a bit and some of the drums too) and I don't hear any bass at all. I also find the timing somewhat haphazard. Without being offensive, I found it hard to connect to the piece or to identify what you as the performer were trying to say to me.

Thanks! Brandon - Bhangra defn is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhangra

Thanks for the tips on recording. I didn't want to put bass on this piece, and pentatonic scales are widely used in Asian and Indian music styles, even before the days of rock and roll.

Cool, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
