Orange Tiny Terror or Fender Hotrod Deville

I'm looking to buy a new amp. However, as I live in Penang, there aren't many options. My parents are against shopping online, which only further worsens the situation. I play mostly indie rock like the replacements, tokyo police club, etc. I'd like to be able to gig with this amp in the future, which brings up weight concerns as the fender is a combo. I also need it to handle pedals well, particularly fuzz. I want nice mellow cleans, but a good overdrive isn't that much of a necessity. Anyone in penang wanting to sell an amp I could pick up would be appreciated as well. (tube please) :)

One thing first, the Tiny Terror won't give you a whole lot of clean headroom - especially at gig levels. It is really meant to be a dirty amp cranked up but manageable volume-wise due to the lower wattage. The Fender will give you much more clean headroom, probably more than enough for most gigging situations.

Those two amp are VERY different sounding beasts but the TT is NOT going to give you nice mellow cleans so get the Fender if that is a requirement. Also, I've never played through a Fender amp that didn't handle pedals well.

This. Totally different amps. I would get the Fender and buy an OD/Distortion pedal. You can easily gig with that Fender.

For the music you play though, the Tiny Terror would be better. Just back off on the volume and it'll clean up enough.

Fender takes pedals well and has enough clean headroom to give you all the volume you need. I didn't like the amp distortion at all, though. If you are playing mostly distorted tones, the TT is a great sounding amp. By the way, Orange has released a Dual Terror that is a 30 watt amp with two channels and is wattage selectable. I am very interested in hearing one of these when they are available in my area. Hope that helps.

The fender would probably do Tokyo Police Club, but don't expect it to do Replacements without a good OD pedal (I'm sure this is the point where someone is gonna dig up a picture of Paul playing through a Deville).

Are these really your only two options? I play very similar music to what you've mentioned (I've covered upwards of 10 different replacement songs) and really like my Vox AC15 C1 for it - that being said I hate it when people offer up alternative answers to a very specific A/B question.

yeah, they're supposedly very good. however they're based in Kuala Lumpur I think while I live on the island of Penang which is a three hour drive away. And because I'm fifteen and my parents wont let me use their credit cards, there's no real other options, except buying something off a local guitarist.

I'm pretty sure TPC use the hot rod's, they're an awesome clean platform for pedals, but I'd suggest a half decent OD pedal too, I'm not a fan of it's drive channel. I use a peavey classic 30 for indie-rock music, a couple of tokyo police club covers, and it's a great amp, not too expensive, and lighter than the hot rod.
