I am currently using an older Line 6 Toneport but since I have changed to a Windows 7 x64 bit computer, I am having issues. From what i can tell, they are common issues with these units and W7 x64.

What reasonably priced interfaces out there are behaving well with Windows 7 and especially 64 bit?

I like the idea of recording direct and using the tones in the Line 6 although I am stuck on the old stuff so I am sure they arent the best tones but I am really not doing this as a profession.

I am not familiar with other options, especially options that may have the ability to record guitar direct. What are some options?

You might consider a similar setup to what I have enroute. I'll be using a laptop running Windows 7 that has USB-2 ports. Look to see what your fastest connection is. I'm getting an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra as well as updating to Reason 5 and Record as my software. One thing you might like about using Propellerhead Record is that it includes software versions of the Line 6 models.

Not a bad plan but I dont want to spend the extra for Record. I have Ableton and Reaper at this point. I have looked at that Fast Track though. I wonder if there is another reasonable software based guitar model program.

I recommend the RME Baby Face.

Pretty cool looking unit but way out of my price range. Thanks
