Pudda! I wonder how it sounds? I guess the look could grow on you, but I too am partial to the old style.

Bad location for the DC jack. What if you use a right-angle plug at the end of your guitar cable?
Dumb.

Just flip the right-angle plug in the opposite direction. Not that hard to do. :idea

Probably cause they wanted to separate themselves from the pack by not using a standard Vox/Dunlop style enclosure?

But why that?

I've got one from their first batch, and if current production sounds as good, they'll have a fine (but hideously ugly, IMO) product there
Mine came in the standard enclosure (Crybaby, RMC, etc.) that most wahs use, painted a lovely shade of 'Jimi' purple
Are there any clips of the new one in action????

meh... too much chrome. As long as they sound good, though, I guess that's all that counts

The case is not that bad, at least for a new styled wah, although I'm more classic for wah. But the chrome is just everywhere! I could always use black spray, to make it less flashy..

Also have a early production Budda...and feel the same way.

New Dunlop Volume anyone?

I really like the old look and really don't like the new look. On the other hand, I don't like the sound of the old one and the new one sounds better in a comparison clip I saw. The purple dunlop casing on the old one was just cool looking-wish I liked the sound more. The range on it was very limited and it just didn't sound pukey enough (in a good way).

As this thread illustrates, some like the look and some don't. I say kudos to Budda for doing something different. Surely we can all understand how something that is hideous to one person can look awesome to someone else.

They both have exactly the same circuit.

Are you sure about the circuit? I saw a demo that compared them and they sounded way different in the demo. I haven't tried the new one in person though.
Edit-it's the same video that Bandofthieves posted by Toneshack-maybe it's just that the throw is much longer which gives it a much more dramatic effect, but that's what I disliked about the old one-short throw.

"What's different about the updated wah-wah is that it now includes a military-grade sealed potentiometer; a heavy-duty switch with improved duty cycle; better wiring with heavy-duty RF shielding and hand soldered connections, double-reinforced with commercial-grade adhesive; a heavier case for better stability and durability in live performances; and a new battery compartment with door and battery cradle.
The new Budwah offers major design and hardware upgrades, without any change in price. The wah-wah pedal's circuitry features a hard-wire bypass, a custom coil inductor inspired by the vintage Fasel inductor, a full-ground plane board for noiseless operation, and a reliable switch.
The Budwah's upgrades include the following:
Military-grade, sealed potentiometer
Heavy-duty switch with improved duty cycle
Superior wiring with heavy-duty RF shielding and hand soldered connections, double-reinforced with commercial-grade adhesive
Heavier case for enhanced stability in live performance
New battery compartment with door and battery cradle"

Kinda looks like a clothes iron to me. Where do you add the water???

I like the look of the new one... but if the circuits are the same (which it does NOT sound like that in the comparison vid), the price of the old used ones will be sweet now!
The Budda is a WARM wah, right? Not wacka-wacka-wacka with alot of highs like most of the Crybabys?

band of thieves posted some of this already, but here's the full ad from the Budda website:
Meridian, MS—The hidden artillery of professional touring musicians, the Budwah™ Budda Wah (http://www.budda.com/gear/gear.cfm?series=610) has long been regarded as one of the finest Wah-Wah pedals available. Now Budda has updated and improved the Budwah with major enhancements, taking the same tried and true sound to an even higher level of quality and durability at the same great price.
Upgrades include:
Military-grade, sealed potentiometer
Heavy-duty switch with improved duty cycle
Superior wiring with heavy-duty RF shielding, and hand soldered connections, double-reinforced with commercial-grade adhesive
Heavier case for enhanced stability in live performance
New battery compartment with door and battery cradle
The Budwah's popularity comes from its use of a custom inductor voice that produces the midrange honk of vintage wahs without the top-end harshness. At bass settings, the Budwah's™ tone is thick without losing note clarity. When accentuating the highs, a carefully selected roll-off frequency ensures the Budwah™ isn't piercing, which is the case with so many other wahs.
The Budwah's™ tight and focused tone sweep produces an outstanding vocal-like quality. Circuitry features a hard-wire bypass; custom coil inductor inspired by the vintage Fasel inductor; full-ground plane board for noiseless operation; and a beefy, reliable switch. According to Ultimate Guitar, "The Budwah™ is hands-down the one of the finest wah-wah pedals ever made."
Despite the substantial improvements made to the Budwah™, its price remains unchanged. "Budda is offering the same great circuitry with major design and hardware upgrades without a price increase," says Budda Product Manager Michael Smith. "And because of its size and weight, the Budwah™ definitely has a permanent place in my pedal board."
The audio circuit, inductor, etc. is all the same. I guess the throw could have changed a bit but I doubt that would make a significant difference in the voicing or sweet spot. I haven't tried the new one though; my old one works great!

Just watched the vid. They sound pretty similar to me; I bet if you compared two old ones or two new ones they'd have that much variance between them just based on component tolerances.

Not feelin the newer ones either. Dunno why they messed with a good thing....I guess to stand out. As silly as it is, the way stuff looks matters to me. Not nearly as much as how it performs...but it definitely matters.

I like the old one more (purple "standard" case). But I actually like the Dunlop Volume Pedal's looks.

Its likely been said already, but because Peavey now owns Budda.:aok

I was just about to add that they used to use Cry Baby GCB-95 pcb's, enclosures, and components but switched to Peavey after Peavey purchased Budda. The old ones weren't exactly like the Cry Baby, but it was pretty darn close.
Dunlop made the old style wahs for Budda (to jeff's specifications) so a lot of the construction was the same.
