short song

I recently got a DR670 and did this short song a couple of weeks ago just to try it out.
The amp was my Fuchs, and the guitar was a Peavey JF1.

Hi Fig,

Nice sounds out of that Fuchs.
I really liked the clean lead. I think the reason is that it sat better in the mix. The lead sound sounds sort of "obviously recorded elsewhere". Sorry but I can't explain it better than that.

Thanks, journo. As for the overdriven tone, I've been having problems with the overdrive on my amp (currently in the shop).
The overdrive, to me, has been sounding very harsh (it got worse than what is in the song).
So we'll see how it turns out . . .

I want to add that I don't always hear things that others hear, so feedback is always appreciated.
If people don't comment because I suck, that's OK. But if they don't comment because the mix or guitar tone sounds horrible, I would like to know so I can make changes.

Pleasant sounds, nothing wrong with it, you certainly don't suck. Possibly a little too "easy listening" to generate a lot of response from the peanut gallery.

Very nice stuff! Loved the clean solo.... Great feel and nice changes. I always hear that Shorter/Zawinul influence in your stuff.

I have to be honest, Scott, and say I've never listened to Wayne Shorter (that I know of). I don't listen to a lot of music other than a handful of stuff nowadays.
And I've never even heard of Zawinul (?).
But I'll take the compliment! :D
