I'm currently working on patches that are as straight forward as possible, ideally with no FX except for a bit of reverb. They are meant to exemplify the original amp and focus on the pure amp tone.
I'd like you to take a guess what amp model I used:phones
The clip is played on a Telecaster, neck pickup. The HD500 patch has just the amp model, cab/mic and a little spring reverb.
Thanks in advance!
......so lend me your ears and I'll play you a song:)

Hi Hans,
Great playing, like always!
I would guess the Dr. Z or the Bassman, I don't have a Tele :hide2 so I had to guess based on what I get out of my Strat....
Anyway I would love the patch ! Clearly after that you unveiled the mistery..:phones

Love it Hans! Dr Z? Or maybe a Marshall?
Great starter patch to add some effects too!

Great playing.
I'm going to go with the /13.

i'm torn....almost positive it's not the Z, has a bassman vibe but not that fuzzy top end. i'm going with the 13, although i don't think i'm right. i haven't played with the gib or supro enough to guess. the 13 can do that type of tone but it has more chime than what i'm hearing.

Boy, maybe I'm lost here, but that sounds like small-iron Fender or off-brand to me. Flabby or raunchy low end depending on your taste, round highs and detail, kinda warm-and-fuzzy dirt, rattly little cab, nice touch response. Something Tweed-ish and maybe AlNiCo methinks...Champs mic that way when recording, but the low end sounds back-alley like a Deluxe...not quite enough chime in my computer speaks to be a GA-5 or a Kalamazoo SE, sounds more 6V6-ish...

BTW, I like doing this with modelers too...dial out all the FX and just see what's hidin' in there in the way of good amps. Makes a lot more sense as a starting point to my little brain...

Sounds really good. Maybe the Twin model cranked up? Not sure.

Hah, three Bassman (Bassmen?) in the last three posts!:)
Thanks all for participating, here's the deal:
It's the Tweed B-Man model. I wanted to tame the flabby low end and the kinda fuzzy breakup just using the amp model eq while still getting a tone that says "Bassman". So this is how the patch looks:
Tweed B-Man, 4x10 Tweed B-Man, 421 Dynamic
Drive 72%, Bass 0%, Mid 100%, Treble 0%, Pres 50%
'63 spring reverb
Patch: http://line6.com/customtone/tone/209760/
Thanks again, Hans:rockin

Bass zero, treble zero. I'm still trying to learn to think outside the (Tube amp) box. I was going to guess one of the vox amps.

My ears are getting better, thanks to Hans as well. I'm learning to hear at the "Voice" from you patches.
Thanks again Hans!!!
I think this is a great idea... and it sounds great!

Important little piece of patch philosophy here...the 0B-0T thing. You'd expect to get modified Bassman sound that way, not Bassman sound. But modelers are like that. You can't put too much stock in the labels on the menu items. Dial till it works right.

BTW, I have a BF Deluxe Reverb patch that A/B's well with a real BF Deluxe, but I built it with the "wrong" circuit such that it has far tighter low end than any real Deluxe ever made. By the same token, I have a Dual Rectifier patch that does the "tube" setting far better than a real DR...same same, I used a totally different amp circuit to get there. Modelers can do things that real target amps do, but sometimes even better than they ever possibly could--if you don't worry about abominating menu labels. Oh...I won't mention which modeler I'm talking about here in polite company... :)

I'd be interested in your Dlx and DR patches if you could share? :)

Um...you'd have to own One Whose Name We Shall Not Mention--but rhymes with Blender Fiber Schwinn. Just an observation about patch-building generally speaking, as opposed to any particular gear. I made that point perfectly clear, btw...in a parallel universe apparently. Totally spaced that one in this one. :bonk
However, if you "have a friend" who has such a demonic abomination, I'll be glad to post the patches, or just link you to a whole passle of 'em. Just so you can help "him" out you understand, not that either of us would actually own such things ourselves... :)

Yes, quite the device. Promotes evacuational health, reduces fossil fuel dependancy, stimulates vital circulatives, and makes great margaritas!
