Vox AC15H1TV recovered in Black!

Well I took the plunge and recovered my Vox AC15H1TV in black.

I love this amp. It just sounds sooooo good. The volume and breakup are perfect for the types of shows I play these days. I usually use single coils and my classic player jaguar sounds like pure melting butter to my ears through this amp's EF86 channel.

But I have run hot and cold on the white color. Not sure if some of you feel the same way. Somedays I think it is awesome and other days I think it kind of stands out a little too much for me.

So I debated and wondered...am I committing some sort of heresy by recovering this eventual classic? Probably. But you know sometimes you want to do something just to see how it turns out.

So here's a few pics. I also added some piping. Thought it really needed that with the black tolex - brown grill cloth combination. Let me know what you think.

Maybe what I need to do now is buy another one in white and sit them side by side on stage and play in stereo. I've also thought about tracking down some black diamond cloth and swapping that out. Then it really would be a black beast.

Cool idea on the gold piping. That might really look good with the gold screws on the side.

Taking a piece of everyone's ideas so far, what about black tolex, black diamond grille cloth, black leather handle and gold piping?

That might really be a stunner.
