My wife has been excited for quite a while. I've had AT&T so I'm used to my iPhone, she's always had verizon and though it may be inefficient, it's how things are. I'm up waiting on the pre-order madness to start, hoping they don't screw up bigtime like AT&T did. Anybody else here with me?

I just ordered mine. I've been carrying an iPod Touch and an enV Touch everywhere I go for two and a half years now. Can't wait to get my iPhone!

I am definitely interested to hear how the iPhone works with Verizon. I won't be switching unless AT&T drops the iPhone altogether, but that has more to do with my wife and what she needs for business.

my wife is going to get one... it'll be perfect for her.

me, i have a hard time picking up a phone that will be outdated in 4 or 5 months. i'm going to do one of two things:

1. pick up an HTC Thunderbolt/Droid Bionic LTE Android phone and grab an iPad2 to satisfy my Apple habit.

2. wait to see if the iPhone 5 comes to Verizon in June.

Just ordered mine from Verizon for my wife for Valentines Day.

No problems. Free delivery, no Apple Store.

I ordered two for my wife and I. I preordered around 9 am with no problems. You can preorder at both Verizon and Apple web sites. http://www.verizonwireless.com/iphoneorder/ and http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone

I've been using a BlackBerry for a number of years and am pretty stoked to finally get the iPhone. AT&T is weak where I live so we've always been with Verizon. From what I read the reception is miles better than AT&T but not quite as fast. What good is the extra speed if your reception isn't great?

I've only been to two places in my area where I don't have exceptional coverage with AT&T. I'm excited to see a bunch of people jump ship to verizon and quit hogging up bandwidth on AT&T

Good comparison article of AT&T vs. Verison iPhone service in the NYT here (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/03/technology/personaltech/03pogue.html?ref=technology)

I'm holding out for the iPhone 5

Also check out Mossberg's review in today's Wall Street Journal. Bottom line is the voice is better on Verizon with less dropped calls but data is faster on AT&T. One issue may be that Verizon doesn't get the iPhone 5 when that comes out, but I can't see Apple pissing off people like that.

I'm on the fence.

I'm thinking of one to replace my Palm Pre +. I honestly like the pre, but would want some more of the cutesy apps and some of the basic stuff that the IPhone has 100 variants of. Plus I have to admit the palm pre, while infinitly easier to navigate, has too small a screen for browsing much. I was going to wait for the new HP variants, but I can't imagine they'll bring much to the table this late in the game.
Plus chicks dig the IPhone like it's a mini Porsche!

Finally got mine on order. For some reason I can't order on the Verizon site...keeps telling me there's "a small issue and they're dealing with it." Whatever. Went over to Apple's site, 5 mins later, got my 16gig on order. Boom.

By the beginning of March I'll either be using the Iphone 4 or the HTC Thunderbolt. I'm going to wait to get more details about the Thunderbolt regarding the 4g lte and pricing....

I'm leaning toward the Atrix (Motorola)

I happily left iPhone and AT&T and have found my home with US Cellular and an Android phone. I'm much happier. But if I wanted to have an iPhone through Verizon I would definitely want to see what happens when a bunch of iPhone users hit their network. I also would not want to buy an iPhone this late in their cycle - most likely they will have a new one out this summer (if they follow their trends).

Sorry to break it to you but the htc evo...is probably a much better phone. Kinda beats the iphone in every category. Check it out. I believe its moving to Verizon soon. I've spent time with both.

Go on youtube and type in iphone vs. Htc evo. Its a cartoon. Funny but does a great job of comparing them.

Not trying to be the anti-iphone....just think u should. Check it out first. Especially if being able to customize your screen layouts is important to you. Another thing is ALL video is playable on the droid
System...compared to whatever video dodges apple forces you to use.

Overall more freedom. I let a coworker of mine use it...he can't wait till his at&t contract is up...and that's coming from an apple devotee. He's had every iphone incarnation. Give it a shot. Nothing to lose really.

+1 to this. My Evo is probably the most useful electronic device I've ever owned.

It's ok, that's the "cool thing" in the tech world (dogging the iPhone and talking about the droid) go ahead. Ive tried that one and others. I really dislike them. I'll stick with my iPhone ;)

I'm an AT&T iPhone customer until Feb 14 when the Thunderbolt comes out. There are many things that I prefer in iOS over Android, but I need to switch and I don't see the use of getting locked into 2 years of slower 3G and stick with the iPhone. Also, there was previously mentioned by Verizon's CEO that the initial 4G data plans would be similar to the 3G. They will probably go to tiered pricing this summer, but we'll see. Also, I can still get $200 for my 8GB 3G on eBay, which is nice.

Mine shipped today per Verizon. I have had the original Droid which is ok but after messing with a friends iphone 4 it was just so much smoother and easier to use. I use a Mac so it should be much more compatible.

Droid X seems cool but I still thought iphone was a bit better....we shall see!!

is the T Bolt coming to sprint? how many milliamps is the battery? battery life on the evo and epic were abysmal although extended life batteries are finally avail.
and that's using all the app killers. gonna be nice when battery technology catches up with android phones. and nice when the extended life batteries are not necessary to get thru a day of usage.

My iPhone arrives on Monday. I've checked out the EVO a few times from a coworker and thought about the Thunderbolt. For me it's just too large. I much prefer the size of the iPhone. I also think iOS is superior to Android. I am a Mac user so perhaps I am little bias.

I'm not worried about 4G until there coverage is more widespread. I am not paying a premium for LTE that I can only use in select areas.

I agree about waiting to find out the details on the 4g LTE system and how much they are going to charge...

I think I'll end up with an Iphone, but I'm going to see and check out the Thunderbolt first.

I'm guessing there will be an updated EVO for Sprint soon...probably sharing a lot with the Thunderbolt.
