Hey guys, I can't find a decent demo of this combination.

I have heard about the Hotcake being a amazing match with a vox ac30 in many forums, however, there is not a good demo to be found.

Can someone make one?

The best demo of the hotcake I have found is Burgermans tele+Bassman+doublehotcake which is intriguing but not the combo I need to hear.

I have been trying to find the right combination for this amp and guitar for years. Recently I tried the Timmy and found it to be not what I am looking for. Love my SHOD and AM silver TS9 but they are not the best match for this amp.

Looking for light/medium drive sounds.

Anyone know any hotcake clones? have one for sale? Bluesberry or regular? preference?

i can tell you from experience that its not all the hype, but its still very good and worth buying. i've owned two with my AC30....a few years ago....they are cheap so getting one should be not problem.

Thanks for the honesty^^^ I appreciate it. Does it do the medium or light rhythm guitar sounds well with a Vox?
Surprising as it is. I have missed out on 2 or 3 in the emporium lately and my local wanted ad is not getting any replies. :(

Yeah, sorry about that. If I had a Vox I'd gladly oblige but the closest thing I have is the CM AC-Tone.

I did find this, though. Maybe it will help. :)

Sorry? Man YOu don't need to apologize! Your videos are awesome! I can't expect you to have all the gear in the world!

Your video makes me want the Hotcake more. I digg the sound.

Its the quality of your video that makes me want to see an actual DEMO of a hotcake with a vox, as the video you found, I listened to as well. The players has some sweet chops and plays nicely, however its far from the specifics we get to see and hear in pedal demo vids.

thanks for doing pedal reviews man! they :JAM

This may be a little off topic, but I just picked one up. Really like it, particularly with single coils. I noticed something strange, and wondered if anyone else has noticed this - it seems to almost have a "gate" effect to it or something, where at the end of a note (or chord), the volume fades out really quick, rather than sustaining.

Has anyone else noticed that too, or am I imagining it?

I had that problem with a HC I had a few years ago. Bugged me so much I ended up passing it on. Tried one again a year or so ago, one of the newer Standard/Bluesberry models, and it wasn't as pronounced.

I recall it being an excellent boost or very low gainer. Also liked it full on, very fuzzy.

I have a matchless DC-30 from '94, a couple tele's, a hot cake and a studio... If that's good enough for a reference I can try to record a quick little demo over the weekend. I don't have a video camera but can record it in pro-tools and send you a good wav file.

^^^^^AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

If you can do some chords and sweet rhythm strumming on the bridge with maybe, unity or a hair above it, with the drive at say 9 or 10 o'clock, and the presence at noon or 1

From the little demos, I have seen with other amps and guitars, this would be my starting point!

I would be so so so happy if you could man!

I really really appreciate this.

No sweat! I always learn somethin' from these things. I'll do my best to do it tomorrow, but depending on how sessions go, might be end of the weekend. The Hot Cake I have is the two knob version with the mids switch. Hope that's cool. Should get the idea...

I no longer own my Ac-15, but when I had it the Hotcake was hands down the best OD pedal. The only competition was a Red Snapper.

Your AC-30 will LOVE a Hotcake!!!

my standard rig is either a tele or jazzmaster to a UK-made AC-15 with blues.

i've been using a double hotcake with it for almost 1 1/2 years now and couldn't be happier. i'll be up at the rehearsal space on sunday. provided i've got some extra time (we're workhorsin' it this sunday), i can try to do a full demo of all the gain ranges of each side and both cascaded together.

interest???

I have to say a dc30 sounds so much different than an ac30. just sayin
