How much does a PRS DGT weigh? I've never played one but I think I want one.

Roughly 7.5 to 9, but most are 7ish to 8.

Mine is over 9lbs. Sounds great! I had another one that was under 8lbs. Sounded great too.

the person who sold me mine had represented it to be 7.2 lbs and that was the reason I bought it. but when I got it it was 7lbs13oz. the guy wouldn't take it back so he is a complete sleaze bag, but I found a prominent prs dealer online who lists the weight of all of their in stock guitars and almost all were 8-9lbs. I recall only a couple were even in the 7 range and it was upper 7s. mine turned out to be a light one.... just a misrepresented light one! I cant remember the name of the dealer but I hope that helps

Beautiful guitar but it's a little heavy for a PRS

While I'm 100% in favor of truth in advertising, is the slight descrepancy in weight...several ounces...an issue that is really *that* important?
:huh

Especially if the weight wasn't checked, or requested to be checked on a CERTIFIED Scale. I'm thinking a simple replacement of the Trem Block to Titanium would be perfect (8 oz.) if it's possible.

I weigh my guitars for sale on my scale.....with a disclaimer...especially when your worried about ounces. My DGT is 8.2 lbs. BATHROOM SCALE weight.....LOL

Yes.....when you are working regularly the difference of a 1/2 pound is noticeable to me.

I have 2 DGTs. One is 7.5 lbs, the other is 7.8 lbs. I really don't like playing a 3 or 4 hour gig with a guitar that weighs much more than 8 lbs.

Mine is 8.8 lbs on the digital bathroom scale.

If you want a nice, lightweight one, this is the lightest one I have seen on the webs at the moment (great looking top & finish, too!):

I much prefer a 7 lb or less guitar, like my LsL, but the 8lb DGT hanging off a nice wide Levy strap is effortless.

It can be for those like myself who are disabled.

For me the difference of as little as 4oz's makes the difference between being able to lift it and not being able to lift it.
