Here is the story:

http://www.cnn.com/2011/SPORT/football/02/06/super.bowl.seating/index.html

(CNN) -- Some 400 fans with tickets to the big game were denied seats at the Super Bowl Sunday because certain stadium sections weren't ready, the NFL said. Seats were not completely installed in six sections, affecting about 1,250 fans. Roughly 850 of those people were relocated to "similar or better seats," but 400 were left out, the NFL said.
"It's not the money. It's the whole issue. We came here for the memories and it's not happening," said Wayne Rusch, a Green Bay Packers fan, who spoke to CNN while waiting to hear if he would have a seat.
His daughter, Anna Rusch, said she flew from Washington, D.C., for the game.
"I love the Packers and right now I can't see anything," she said, clearly exasperated.
Fans denied seats are expected to get a refund of triple the cost of the face value -- $800 -- of their ticket. They were also allowed in the stadium to watch the game on monitors or from standing platforms in each corner of the stadium, the NFL said.
But whether that was enough to satisfy upset fans remains to be seen.
"It was terribly mismanaged and we're just beside ourselves. I don't know how this is going to come out," said an unnamed Pittsburgh Steelers fan between tears. "I can't see a positive outcome."
The NFL promised to look into the incident.
"We regret the situation and inconvenience that it may have caused. We will conduct a full review of this matter," it said in a statement. "The safety of fans attending the Super Bowl was paramount in making the decision."
Sunday's game between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers, Super Bowl XLV, kicked off around 6:30 p.m ET.

triple refund the price of the ticket, sounds fair to me. bad situation no doubt, but that extra cash seems like a fair solution to the problem.

figure out which team had more fans affected by this and rig it so they're in the SB again next year

Free tickets to next year's bowl?

Or this year's price applied to an upgraded ticket?

So THAT'S why Polomundo got the award...a consolation prize...in advance.

I was thinking apart from the NFL, the since a lot of them were packers fans, the packers should invite them all to a post party in Wisconsin, it would be a cool move, not to mention a great PR opportunity.

Except that it likely won't cover the costs of hotels, car rentals, parking, flights etc. That stuff is equally inflated during a superbowl. There will be legal action I predict

I think if people can present receipts in an amount greater than the triple refund, they should get it all paid back - air fare, hotel, etc.

Yes, they should be refunding all travel expenses at the very least.

They knew about it before sunday and did nothing.

The 3x sounds fair. I also read that they have all already been invited to go back to next years SB as guests of the NFL, expenses paid.

I think thats more than fair. Mistakes happen and I understand the fans being upset for certain, but Ive yet to really muster up any substantial sympathy for them. Seems like they are making out at this point.

I think that amounts to 3 times the face value of the ticket. Most people pay many times the face value. Thousands of dollars for some. As punishment, Jerry Jones should never be allowed to host another SB or appear on television ever again.

They got a really great deal, IMHO.

- x3 the face value of the tickets
- Free food and drink during the game and a TV to watch the game
- Tickets to the 2012 Super Bowl (if the Packers don't make it, sell them for $5G)
- They got to walk on the field just after the game

Really, what more would you want the NFL to do?

They should run Jerry Jones out of town once and for all. It's his fault, he wanted to break attendance records so bad that he screwed these people out of their money! He is bad for the NFL!!! Rozelle got the league to adopt a league- think mentality and Jones is trying to ruin it!!!! He is trying to destroy small market teams like Buffaloe and Jacksonville!

Read the book Boys will be Boys. Its about the cowboys during the 90s. The only person I still have respect for from that team is Aikman.

Yes. Lets run the owner of the most successful NFL franchise (in terms of $$$) out of the league.
