Hey everyone,

I'm currently on the list for a Cornish SS-3, but I've also been considering getting a TB-83 for Brian May style leads. I emailed Pete about it and he said that the TB was designed specifically for a 60's Vox ac-30. He said that he couldn't say how it would perform with modern amps, or in conjunction with other effects. I use a new single channel 25 Watt Supro by Zinky Electronics that breaks up quickly and isn't too similar to an old Vox. I also use a handful of other pedals that I would run with the TB-83. Anyone have experience using a TB-83 with an amp other than an old Vox, or with other pedals? How does it work?

I had one for awhile and it seems to work great with a variety of amps, Two Rock, cranked Fenders, and others. I'm just not sure I'm a treble booster kind of guy, but it sounded better than the others I tried.

I have a clone of the TB-83 and it sounds great through my London, although that's Vox topology. It sounded good through my cranked Super, which isn't very practical, but good none-the-less and it was awe-inspiring through my Z Route 66. It's stacks well with OD's and sounds really nice after a Fuzz Face or Tonebender. It really does shine with the Vox circuit though, no lie.

It will work with any amp that is cookin. It will not sound good with a bright clean amp like a twin.

I have a 17 watt Supro clone and it sounds quite good with it. It's not dead on Queen with that amp but you can get closer than you'd think. It's a great pedal. It even sounds good with my Princeton when pretty cranked but with a Vox (normal channel) it IS May.
