I'm interested in knowing if the buffer option in this pedal is great. The specs seem different from the other booster/buffer pedals. I'm currently using the one from Mi Audio. This one looks like it's more versatile.

Thanks!

I only realized weeks after my purchase that this pedal has a buffer... but yeah, i had a little twiddle around and left it on in the end. Livens up the tone nicely!

However, my unit is on all the time... it has become my number one OD-pedal!!! Sounds so nice and open. Really good for chord work on a strat or tele.

Thanks for the reply. Good to hear that the buffer works nicely. :aok

Yeah, the Mi Audio that I have can't be used as one. that's why I'm looking at the Ruby Red.

Thanks!

teddy boy--I've been intrigued by the Ruby Red as an OD, but I've never been able to find someone who used it that way. I'm looking for light overdrive that will clean up when I pick lightly and get dirty when I play harder. Does the RR respond that way? Thanks!

@sannella

I can't tell you about the Ruby Red Booster but Mad Professors Sweet Honey Overdrive reacts very dynamic : )

@all

I would be very glad if anyone could explain me the general tonal differences between the Sweet Honey OVERDRIVE, the Sky Blue OVERDRIVE and the Little Green Wonder OVERDRIVE :?

correct me if im wrong.......

from my understanding, the sweet honey is kinda like the honeybee (but not), but is less responsive to pick attack.

i dont know much about the sky blue.....

the LGW is a different variation on a tube screamer drive pedal. it has more headroom, and less compression. to the ear, it is more of a gritty drive pedal, but not in a harsh way. i love it.

The Ruby Red Booster was, far and away, my favorite from the Mad Professor line at NAMM.
