I keep reading what you guys rave about...but im a metal guy, like Mark
Day, (love his Lynch tones)...and so im wondering would i be happy with
full range? Or is this more of a clean Fender type tone going with the wider
range? Anyone spending $2K on Full range speakers, and loving them playing Ozzy? Or is this a Beatles type of fix? Ive got a FB VHT 4/12
cab now for my left channel, and 2 ...2/12 Crate Celestion cabs for my right channnel. Now i only sit about 5 feet away, with the stereo field
right on me! Room is only about 11' x 13'. Should i just stay with my
current heavy rock cabs? (ive got the Ultra Axefx) My current fave preset is a pushed double "Drive" block #222 ! So you can guess what
my tastes are. Lynch/Satriani/Vai tone

So...I'm not a heavy player, but am highly inspired by Satriani and try to dial in a little bit of his tone albeit at lower gain levels. I'm also not an AxeFX player but a general modeler lover and I think style has little to do with it. What it boils down to getting a tone one likes (or even loves). The draw to full range playback systems is not only due to their versatility in mimicking multiple virtual rigs through cabinet emulation but also due to their relative low size/weight to volume ratio. Most gigging guys enjoy the ease of setup/breakdown and being able to hear more faithfully what the audience is hearing.
