Is the LTD SR just the regular current production black one? Or is the SR the famed LTD "Silver"?
The reason I ask is because I'm doing some research on Barber's limited production (only 55 ever built) UnLimiTed pedal, which is a higher gain LTD SR. I've always heard great things about the Silver and of SR=Silver, then that makes the UnLimiTed more appealing.
There's a guy in the Emporium who wants to trade his Un-LTD for a Diamond J Drive, which I happen to have. It's totally perfect condition and even though it was made in 07, it's brand new, been sitting on a shelf for almost 4 years and I just got it. I like it a lot but I have a Fetto and Screwdriver and some rare versions of Wampler pedals, so I don't exactly need the J Drive. I've got some amazing sounding drives already and if the UnLimTed is that rare and sounds good, ut might be worth it to try it and have it. Even though there were only 55 made, I have no idea if it's worth as much as a brand new J Drive. So I'm trying to decide if I should trade it, and also trying to figure out if the LTD SR is just the regular black one, or if it's the raved-about Silver. Any help and opinions are appreciated. A very rare, higher gain version of one of Barbers most coveted pedals would be kinda cool.

The SR stands for "Special Recipe", which is the third version of the Barber LTD series. Of the three, the SR has the most neutral tone. I've owned all three and the one I prefer (and still have) is the SR. The UnLimiTed is an awesome pedal, rare or not, it's just a great sounding pedal... All of David's pedals are as musical as they come regardless of price.

I've seen the UnLimTed selling for about $130 in the emporium a few times, so it all depends what the Diamond is worth I guess.
Although the Barber was limited to 55, I sure seem to see a lot pop up for sale.

Cool thanks. So it's not the same as the "Silver" grey box ones.

Hmm okay, that's not too promising. I haven't seen one before this but I wasn't really looking. The Diamond was $220 a couple weeks ago and it's still perfect. I could even exchange it or return it if I wanted to. It probably doesn't help the price that it was one of the very first Mk. 3's and has been preserved sitting on a shelf for about 4 years, but it's kind of cool. It's not the best pedal ever, but aside from the Fetto, Screwdriver, and BJfe/Mad Professor stuff I've owned, it's the best OD I've tried (excluding high gain pedals). So, as amazing as the UnLimiTed sounded in the one YouTube video, I can get one for less than the J Drive is worth and maybe I should just get a regular LTD. That video sounded absolutely amazing though. I was just hoping the fact that it was rare made it worth a lot, and I was hoping it was a really rare tone that was the best of the Barbers or something.

By the way, that same shop that I got the J Drive from has a Tone Pump EQ that is still brand new and I think it has been there a really long time. Isn't that a discontinued pedal? Worth checking out and paying the still new price for it?

The LTD SR is also in the black box, but with a green LED and white/creme knobs. I have the SR with the mod board and I think it is definitely one of the best low gainers out there. I actually sold my Timmy and kept the SR.

What does the mod board do?

What does the mod board do?
From the Barber site:
The MOD PCB adds controls for Note Shape, Harmonics (Direct Drive only, replaces push/pull), Midrange and Fizz filter. The MOD PCB also adds four new switches to your Barber pedal, Gain, asymmetry 1, asymmetry 2 and a fizz filter bypass.
I really find the midrage trim pot to be a nice addition to the SR.

I have an Unlimited. It's a LTD SR with more gain on tap. Not modeled after the old silver. Excellent pedal.
