Please, as you can find a diagram for almost any other pedal out there. I'm just wondering. I'm on the wait list but if I can build something close to hold me over.

I have looked before and there does not appear to be one available. I've checked free stomp boxes and diy stomp boxes to no avail.
Maybe you'd be willing to do a trace when thou get yours?

I don't think I'm opening mine up. Afraid to fudge something up. I'm on the wait list. Will be ready mid2012

I wonder if the secret mojo circuit would be hidden in epoxy goo, LOL!!!

There is a lot going on the Ethos. I opened mine when I had it. I've built quite a few pedals and it still scared me. :)

What is it based on?
TS9, Muff, Bluesbreaker, DS-1, Mu-amp, or Rat?

Dumble;)
Yup. Based around the Dumble preamp using mosfets I think.

I've seen some discussion of it, and, like the Foxrox TZF, most people seem to feel it's not worth trying to replicate the pedal, they've just packed too much in there!

Why don't you email Robbie at Custom Tone? I think his is an expert on the subject. :rotflmao

I only opened up the back to see what it looked like inside. Circuit board is flipped over so you can't see most of what is going on without taking it out of the case.
To the OP, there are a number of easier ways to get the general idea of the ethos distortion side without having the reverse engineer the circuit if the goal is just to tide you over on the wait list. Plenty of threads about "similar" sounding pedals if you are running it into an amp.

78, that was an excellent suggestion. I can't imagine anyone going wrong with this advice, especially when already waiting on an Ethos.
I like that the OP wouldn't open up his own Ethos, but...

...just can't understand why you all aren't rushing to do that very thing for him. *chuckle*

When I typed that, I meant what are the posters waiting for eating the popcorn. Not hurry up and get me my info. I know there are a bunch of d style od pedals. But the ethos has a clean preamp too. I'm just wanting my pedal right now. Next year is a long way away. Ha ha
