Who can recommend me a guitar strap? :)
I'm looking for a nice looking, sturdy, but flexible strap, preferably leather and preferably available in the EU :)

If you wanna go vinyl, Couch.
Mid-priced suede & leather, Franklin.
Top leather, I'd recommend looking at Anthology Gear Wear.
As far as availability, I'm sure they all ship to EU.

Levy Leathers...durable...finished with piping on some models...look at their products... They are a classy looking strap for a reasonable value ....I have 4 and love 'em...You'd have to figure out availability to EU though...

I honestly could not believe what Moody straps were for the price. Honestly, I prefer my $25 Franklin to it. I was shocked at how average the quality of the leather was for the exorbitant price.

I have some Moody's, some Italia's, and some other mass-market ones. My favorite is a wool Reunion Blues. Most comfy of all of them for me.

Wow guys, thanks for all these idea's!!
I really like the look of the Couch straps .. but I wonder:
- Are they flexible? (eg: not as stiff as the Lucky 13 Dunlop straps).
- Do they have a firm grip on your shoulder, or do they slide?
- Are they comfortable? (eg: don't cut like the Lucky 13 Dunlop straps!).
Franklin and Moody is also nice .. now you guys really make it hard! :D

Flexible, yes.
They slide, depends on the material.
Comfortable yes.

Check out Corvo Leather (http://www.corvoleather.com/). Designed in the UK and handmade in the EU, so no import duty to pay and reasonable shipping charges to Belgium. You can also get them on ebay.co.uk. They are well-made, durable and comfortable straps at a lower price point priced than Levy's, El Dorado, Moody, etc. if you live in the EU.

I'm looking for one too, also EU based. Not much to spend. Was looking for a padded strap, but bought seperate padding. However I'd still like a more comfortable strap regardless.

Brookwood (http://www.brookwoodleather.com/) for a handcrafted work of art. The Fender tweed strap is also nice for the $$$$.

i have two of 'em. both are wide brown suede with piping. one of my guitars is a rather heavy LP Std. very comfortable and i think $25-30 iirc.
i just looked at their website and i'm pretty sure the prices are List. i don't remember paying anywhere near that in a local store, so don't be scared off. fyi.

I'm using all Moody's these days - they are just comfortable for me and don't look out of place with a pretty gee-tar.

I have a very nice Levy's for my Les Paul, it's wider and has a nice padding so the weight is more distributed. For my strat I just use a Dimarzio clip lock, under $20 in US dollars, you'll never break it and it acts as a great strap lock. You do have to be careful with them in your case, they will scratch if not stowed properly.
I guess the Levy's is my favorite though, nice tooled leather, very well made.

I'm using a Planet Waves strap which has a strap lock system built into both ends. It's pretty cool because you don't need to modify your guitar.

Brookwood straps are great if you want handcrafted tooled leather! Levy's are great for the money! I use a Franklin for my Les Paul..Wide and Comfortable...If you want a REALLY OFF THE WALL Kind of strap..and don't mind shelling out the cheese this place rocks:http://www.jeridesigns.com/customguitarstrapshome.htm
I own straps from all four places can't go wrong at either place. Just depends on what you want or have to spend!

Couch strap arrived, and I like it!!
Pro: flexible, lightweight, doesn't stretch, feels very comfortable, doesn't slide off my shoulder, looks great, vegan.
Con: doesn't fit over the large strap buttons my MIJ Ibanez has (but will put Schaller strap locks on it anyway).

JayKco handmade straps are the finest straps I've ever used. Wildwood Guitars and Action Music both carry them. Very well made.

I never really care about my straps all the much... leather, padded, just that other stuff they make the cheap ones with... padded ones are nice if you are playing something like a Les Paul, I find I tend to put my leather ones on acoustic/wood finish guitars. Sturdiness though? That is important... you can get strap locks. I never got around to this myself, I have had my guitar strap slip off the button 100's of times and my tiger like reflexes come alive (only comes alive when my guitar is falling).
