As a fixie rider, I do need a good bag. Unfortunately, due to sever GAS, Lovepedal, Devi Ever and Creepy Fingers didn't agree. Now, having money, I'm trying to decide between a Chrome Metropolitan and a Reload Courier. Any help or other suggestions are welcome, but keep in mind I need something reliable and well-made (i.e. not Timbuk2)

Hey - I have used Chrome bags and they are really nice, very well made and last for a long time. The only problem I have seen with them is that the inner liner can sometimes crack in cold weather. I used the Ivan backpack bag for awhile too - it was way more comfy than a single strap bag.

I do own a bike shop up here in Ottawa Canada.... the bag I have now is a Seal line which is a bit nicer than the chrome in my opinion. I does not use velcro to close the bag....just cinch type straps. Lots of room for organization too, if you are into that kind of thing.

One other bag that is very cool that we just started carrying is Mari Cla Ro. They are made in Toronto out of of full recycled material. Check them out here

I like Domke bags, thick, heavy duty straps, lots of internal padding, made in the US. Check out F803 of J803.

Seafoamer and I share the same passion with the IGH drive train...

I don't use a messenger bag but here's a free bump anyway :)

I have a Crumpler backpack that is still going strong after 3 years. I use it every day, and it doesn't really even show any signs of wear.

Yes! You are pretty much my west coast counterpart!

I have one my wife bought me while we were dating. It came from American eagle and cost about 75 bucks. 2 inside pockets, 3 on the outside. Magnets to hold everything closed. It holds all my extra strings, cables, accessories. Its really built like a tank.
