View Full Version : Examples of lower gain lead tone over higher gain rhythm tone?

Does it always make sense to have the lead or solo tone be higher gain than the rhythm tone? I was trying to think of examples of a relatively clean solo tone over a crunchy rhythm tone and couldn't come up with any off the top of my head.

the live version of freebird from one more from the road has a cleaner lead than the backing part
