Can anyone give me the heads up on this pedal. What are your thoughts? How does it compare to a Turbo or Standard Rat? Also, how big is the pedal? Is it bigger than a Zvex?

I don't know how it compares to the Turbo or Standard, but it's way inferior to the White Face Reissue, although those are pretty expensive. None of the new ones use the LM308 chip, and all sound the worse for it. The Deucetone is massive, twice the size of a normal Rat and MUCH bigger than a ZVex.
My advice? Get yourself over to eBay and buy an old Big Box Rat. Some are going cheap, they've got the original chip in and should sound fantastic.

Or you can get a clone like the CMATMODS Black Plague.

try to find an old one. The new ones are different (which the case most the of the times) but peter holmstrom swears by them in his new project the pete internation airport. Check them out to hear the sound of the old duecetones.

the present deucetone rat would be a killer distortion machine.I love all the current proco rat line(youdirty,turbo,2) and as i understand buying a deucetone is like having all of those 3 plus a booster plus the cascading ability wich should also sound WILD.
I have the "you dirty rat" and i love it...i sold an wampler super plextortion to get one and i don't regret it.The super plextortion was an amazing pedal, don't get me wrong, and might be far superior than the rats to many people here but for me the YDR is more of my type and more fun to play after the honeymoon...it's just a blast for me.The turbo rat is also amazing, cuts great live, and it has a lot of character .
The rat2...hmm... it's the best distortion for the price, the classic rat tone..it sounds just as good as many vintage versions.
Do get one! It must be awesome!Im 100% positive.
Well...the whiteface RI is in the highest league of dirt but i would bet on anything it's not the LM308 chip wich it's responsable for that great tone...i'm sure the secret lies in some different values of its classic circuit. But that's all you get.
Was interested in this pedal as I love the Rat. No LM308 is a dealbreaker. Right now I run two Rats on my board, one Keeley the other DIY with Rat, Turbo, You Dirty, and boutique options. Same concept as the Deucetone I guess.

The Deucetone is the size of two rats, because it is literally two separate Rat circuits in one box. On each you have the ability to select between three Rats- one side is Vintage, Turbo, and You Dirty. The other side is Vintage, Turbo and Clean Rat. It should sound identical to the you dirty and turbo when in that mode, as it uses the same circuit board (just two of them).
The Vintage setting is essentially a US made Rat2. The Clean Rat setting is pretty cool- it has no clipping diodes. It still clips (slightly) but it's just really different from the rest. One of my favorite things is that the two pedals can stack in any order (you just use a small patch to change it from stock) or you can use them completely independently, since each of the circuit boards has its own independent in and out. The footswitches are close enough that you can stomp them both at the same time, but there's enough space that you don't have to.
You could always get two LM308s from surplus and drop them in to the Deucetone. It's a pretty easy mod if you're handy with a soldering iron. Or, you could drop one in one side, leave the stock chip in the other and compare directly. Or if you want to go friggin' nuts, you could socket them both, and directly a/b any number of chip combinations.
Since all LM308s are from surplus, we as a manufacturer would have a pretty tough time keeping a price stable, not to mention finding a regular source for them. It's much easier for an end user to do so.
Any questions lemme know.

Tose two guys who have droped a LM308 in one of the DT's soket to compare the tone to the current chips, reported "no difference".

No way, man, everyone knows the LM308's add extra pixie dust.
Well, some of the Rat's distortion comes from the IC depending on the gain level. You can probably hear the character differences more clearly in the boost mode.
