The other day, a fat-ass groundhog that has been sneaking into my yard by digging under my fence, and then munching on my plants. I'm going to get that bastard.

When I was in college, I was napping in my room and heard something that sounded like firecrackers going off. Then I heard someone yelling "help me." I looked out the window and saw a guy laying on the ground about 100 yards away that had been shot. Pretty scary. That qualifies as strange, right?
It turned out to be a story that made national news. Some MN grad student came down to Chicago looking for an old professor to avenge his destroyed academic career or something like that.

Yikes--Was he OK? Did you help him?
In college we used to watch kids sled down a big hill on campus on their dorm matresses. Pretty funny to watch.

my wife was laying in bed, our bed room is on the first floor, and looked out the window. she saw a snake rise up half way out of the grass, look around, go back down and slither away.

It was in the middle of a bunch of dorms and fraternity houses. Within about 20 seconds, he had a handful of people, who were much closer and probably scared sh1tless, helping him. An ambulance was there within 5 minutes, and he survived.

Two nights ago I saw a car drive into the house across the street. Straight over the porch and into the living room. Apparently, he was swerving to miss a cat. Fortunately, the house has been empty for a few months now and the driver wasn't hurt. The cat, however, was still run over.

Crazy. What part of Cleveland?
This past X-mas day, I looked out if my living Rm window and saw a car pull up to my next door neighbor's house. His 17 yo daughter and another girl (about same age?) gets out of the car in very skimpy lingerie and runs into their house. No sh*t!

Eastside, a bit off the Broadway area. There's usually something crazy going on around here anyway though.
There's a utility pole right outside my window. The other day it was sort of drizzling/raining. All of a sudden one of those big gray can things (look like big capacitors with terminals on top) clustered at the top exploded, complete with a cool light show. Loud too. It smoked for a while, and now has some black oily looking stains on the outside. The kicker was, my lights didn't even blink, and the electric company didn't come out and check it or anything. Do those things routinely shoot sparks and flame out, and then just go back to working??? :eeks
Dude.....I'd report that!

The other week there was a guy working up and down my street playing the bag pipes, that's not something you see everyday and yes it was on St. Patricks Day

A few weeks ago, I saw a guy running down the street with a chain attaching an old tire to him dragging it down the street as he ran. He is an insane runner who I've seen on the bike trails before but this was really odd.
My shop is on the river so I get all kinds of wild animals. Coyotes, red and silver fox, possums, raccoons, even a skunk.
There is a metal scrap yard two buildings behind me so there is always wild looking stuff coming down the street on trailers.
A few years ago, I looked out and an enormous building two blocks away was burning to the ground.
I always look out the door and see Ferraris, real 289 & 427 Cobras, 32 chop top hotrods, Unbelievable Vettes, etc. as Wes has a custom hot rod shop. Right now, there is a 1954 blue Corvette sitting there.

Watched from my crummy neighborhood 2nd story window as a Long Beach police cruiser or two rousted a stoned guy sitting in his car. They had the 'perp' sitting peacefully on the grass...then came 3 or 4 other cars, then another batch...and another. Must've been a slow day! There had to be a dozen marked cruisers parked all around our corner.

The Philadelphia Marathon starts right under my window on the upper floor of a high rise apartment building.
Thousands of people line up at the starting gate on the parkway but inevitably, two or three minutes before the starting pistol goes off, people have to pee but they don't want to wait in line for the Porta Pottys and miss the start of the race.
So I see a whole parade of women leaving the pack who run to a bush under my window and then squat and let fly in public while sheepishly looking around for the men who always creep up to watch them relieving themselves.
It happens every year.

I was asleep at about 430 on a Saturday morning in my apartment about 7 years ago when I awoke to a whole bunch of yelling and ruckus right outside my window ,from what seemed to be right between my building and the building right next door.
I looked out in time to see two college kids about my age (20ish) running in between the buildings with 4 cops on foot and in pursuit, pretty much about the time i registered what was happening two of the cops caught the runners, tackled them and proceeded to hold them down on the ground while the other two cops beat them pretty heavily.
From what I was able to gather from the yelling, the two dudes running had been throwing glass bottles at moving traffic, someone reported it and when the cops came to confront them, they proceeded to throw a glass bottle at the cops and then take off running.
lots of weird stuff in this one, obviously you don't throw bottles at anything especially cops
But the reaction was pretty strong considering one of the runners was taken away in an ambulance while still unconscious
Definitely a weird thing to see

At work yesterday, someone yelled, "look at this!" There was a 20-something girl dancing by herself in an empty parking lot. Yup, not much interesting happens at work.

Yeah pretty much how I feel about it
When you do something of that nature, you have to expect a pretty strong reaction

Last fall I just happened to be looking towards my garage and noticed a turkey milling around. After a few moments, I see out of the corner of my eye a doe deer come running up my driveway. It must have been spooked as it was really booking it. It rounded the corner by my garage and plowed right into the turkey. There was a cloud of feathers and the deer jumped straight up in the air. Both of them recovered and went their separate ways, the turkey was flying a bit wobbly, the deer faster than ever. My wife still doesn't believe it.
Needless to say, I live in the country.

I lived in farm country, and my mother grew a lot of vegetables on our 6 acres. One morning I awoke to an extremely loud noise outside, a huge roar. I lifted my head up to peek out the window, and OH MY GOD! A helicopter is crashing in my back yard... LOOK OUT!
But no, it was crop dusting. Mom didn't bother to tell me that she hired somebody to do that.
Ugh.

There is a large field directly across from the small subdivision I live in. They crop dust every spring. It's awesome to go stand close to the field and watch the plane get just a few feet off the ground.
I saw a neighbors cat attack and kill a rabbit from the window once. It was awesome and kinda sad at the same time.

When I lived in Manhattan, I saw weird crap all the time out of my window. We had a view of countless windows (we were fourth story). Lots of naked people (not in a good way).
This was the weirdest:
Near the end of my time there, one big bedroom window would always have the blinds up and usually a light on. A few times a week there would be a new girl laying in the bed in not a lot of clothing, usually underwear. Sometimes they'd be reading, sometimes moving around like they were cleaning or exercising, sometimes sleeping. The room decorations never changed (they were scarce). The light almost never went off and the blinds never shut.
Every now and then a guy would be in there on his phone and doing something (greasy spiked haired, too much time in the gym NY stereotype).
I still can't figure that one out. Other people theorized somebody across the street was paying college girls to hang out in there so they could knowingly get peeped on (we were basically on Columbia's campus). As crazy as that sounds, that's the best theory I've heard. Weirder things have happened in that city :dunno

I just saw a skunk in my back yard walk along my garage and down my drive way and on to my neighbor's front yard. Big one, too. And I live in a well established 50 year old sub.

What a great thread idea and have I got a great one...
Back in 2004, I'm sitting at my desk in the living room of my ground floor apartment looking out the patio window. There's s little 4' X 5' slab of concrete and no fences between the other neighbors.
I hear someone scream "Don't go!" and see a totally naked woman run by. I jump up and run back there and realize she's gone out to the front of the building so I run for the kitchen window.
I then see a car burning off backward up the hill with her on the hood hanging on. She still has no clothes on, I mean, not a stitch.
I call the police and they come and I tell them all about it. Some black guy who lived across the street saw the car action too and he's out there talking to them too.
I look up the hill and see this car park and some guy jumps out and runs in to another apartment stack up about 300' above ours. There's someone slinked down in the front seat. I walk up there and without being too obvious, I realize it's her.
I go back down to the police and they come up and start to talk to her. Shortly thereafter, I see them with a blanket over her escorting her back into her apartment.
It was like out of some movie.

Doesn't anybody knock anymore?
I once watched a car drive up one of the guide wires for a telephone pole while trying to avoid an idiot (no doubt one of their friends) who ran into the road & pretended to throw something at them. The whole car went up onto the wire, slid off towards the drivers' side, & came to rest on it's side & in the middle of the street.
One day while at work, I glanced out my office window and saw a man, who many have been homeless washing, vaccuuming and possibly waxing a shopping cart.
Def one of the oddest things I had seen in a while.
Years ago when I was living at home (age 14 or 15) I got up in the middle of the night to go take a leak. So I'm in the can doing my thing, and I hear some commotion from the neighbor's house outside.
I pull the curtain back and look out the window, and the husband is standing on the porch screaming obscenities back into the house. He carries on for 30 seconds or so, just absolutely ripping into whoever it is he's yelling at inside the house. Then he ducks, and some stuff flies past - whoever it was threw something at him.
About that time my old man comes into the bathroom as well and joins me in watching out the window. The husband storms into his pickup truck, gets in, and begins trying to start it up, but it won't turn over.
Out comes wifey - completely naked. She's throwing stuff at him and screaming, and starts beating on the car windows. He finally gets it started and screeches backwards out of the drive; gone.
Never saw him again.

There was a Helipad about two blocks from where I used to live and I happened to be looking out the window. This helicopter was lining up up over the pad, about 80ft off the ground when a big cloud of black smoke come out of the top and it dropped like a stone.
By the time I got there it was a melted blob.It hit about ten feet from the riverbank. Two guys had jumped out and landed in the river(they lived).Three more didn't make it out.

As we speak! Hardly ever seen in this town.
Right in front of my Pacific Grove window as we prep dinner [the sleepiest village on the west coast].
Four cruisers right this minute [5:00 PM] cops with guns drawn but I can't see why [I'll stay indoors]. Some Granny has an overdue library book?
