I hope those work, I can't view videos on my work computer. Henrik Frieschlader is a KILLER player, absolutely one of the best out there. I'm surprised he's not HUGE on here as he's better than most of the other blues players that get a lot of talk around here, yet this is only the second time I've seen him mentioned.

The Peter Green song is a lot different than most of the stuff he usually does. He's blazing fast, but in more of a naturally bluesy way than a Gary Moore high gain, dare I say, shred-blues way. His albums are pretty good too.

And a pretty good singer

I've seen him live twice. Opening for BB King and with one of his bands. Also, one of my teachers in high school "has played with him" (that's all he'd say, probably a bass player or something).

He's a very good player and puts on a killer show!

Indeed, the German accent doesn't come through either. I put on the sessions with Martin Meinschaefer after I saw this thread, best blues album I've heard in ages, he's the best new blues artist I've heard since Sean Costello and, honestly, no disrespect to Sean, but on the whole I think I like Henrik quite a bit better. Frieschlader just knows exactly what to play at all times, he rarely screws up or looses his place live, and he has taste beyond beleif. He's a beast! Too bad his name is so damn hard to remember how to spell.

He's very very good, but I can't agree with the better then Sean Costello. I don't think he's even close to having Sean's soul. I don't really like comparing guitarists because it's silly but I heard Sean play like this guy when he was 15 years old.

I agree, apples and oranges, two very different styles and approaches. It's just my personal preference. I like Henrik's body of work better, it's more my preference of blues style whereas Sean's stuff is hit and miss for me. Again, apples and oranges, they're both amazing.

My point here is that Henrik should be a name that every blues fan knows, but oddly he is not. He needs some exposure.

I don't know what it is cause he's apparently got all the right components...excellent tone...chops and a nice voice to be a knock-me-out-performer but he just doesn't resonate or move me like Sean C. or Joe B and a host of others do...

Sean C. and Joe B....especially Sean C. are in another world in my book but I chalk that up to tastes...different strokes I guess...

I can put on any Sean C. youtube and immediately feel something...

I wasn't into gear back then so I'm not sure. I know that he plays a 335 but as for the amps I wouldn't know.

I saw him in Hamburg, Germany both times.

Thanks seegs. All I know is he seems to be really good. Haven't checked out his original material and that's usually make or break for me. But you can definitely tell like Joe and Sean, that he knows where he comes from and does more then justice to some great songs. We need more of these guys not only one the best.

Are you guys aware of this site with a live Rockpalast performance - great sound and picture quality:

http://www.wdr.de/tv/rockpalast/extra/videos/2010/1020/henrik_freischlader.jsp

There's also a Philip Sayce concert there which is also superb. Just click on videos and then look through the list of artists.
