I got a special preview of the disc in it's entirety and it is really really great! The song writing and guitar playing is just smokin'.

Pre ordered 2 one for me and one for my mother.

Very cool video of Haynes, a lot of soul, and he even smiled at the end, rare for him when on stage with Govt Mule and the Allman Brothers Band.

Bumping this b/c I had a chance to hear parts of it on JamOn on XM over the w/e.

Wow.

His playing is understated and tasty, the songs and vocals are fantastic.

Just sounds like an artist that isn't out to impress with chops and just wanted to play what is necessary. He still rips, but it feels somewhat distilled, in the best way possible.

I came away thinking what a very mature artist. In some ways reminded me of Clapton for that reason.

Between this CD and the Trucks/Tedeschi CD, it's a good time to be playing funky, gtr driven soul...he says self servingly :D

Definitely not! I preordered it, can't wait for it to show up!

Listening to his set from the Robert Johnson 100th B-day show as I type this, great stuff!

Listening online right now. I'm enjoying this side of Warren. It's a great band, some killer grooves and as always great tones and playing.

Not really a fan but I been listening to disc 1 and I am impressed. His singing is very soulful. The recording sounds pretty busy and I have a hard time hearing everything. My deafassed ears need the vocals more in front of the mix. I been pleasantly surprised

you know, when i was listening to it the first time, it sounded better than most d/l's of mp3 that i hear ... it was intangible at first ... then it occurred to me that it might be the fact that it was recorded live to 2" tape with everyone playing at the same time ... i have always wondered if there was something intangible that could survive digitization and protools processing ... i wonder if that is it ...

Spent a lazy Sunday morning with my strat cranked, working on licks from Man In Motion, reading TGP. Sort of multitasking in a guitar focused kind of way. The CD is really good, rewards multiple listenings. Warren is an encyclopedia of tasteful blues lines and tone. Warren's website has links to his performances on Imus - fantastic stuff, 4 tunes, well recorded and HD video'ish. Warren looks like he's having a great time, you can see the technical aspects of his playing style at work. A special bonus is his singer Ruthie Foster. Ruthie had a CD a while back - The Truth by Ruthie Foster. The guitarist on that CD is none other than Robben Ford, with his intro to The Truth a throwback to the style and tone that made him revered.
Check it all out when you have a chance, great way to get through a rainy time and have some fun.

Yeah, a band playing in a room together trumps all.
