View Full Version : Anyone here think Matt Schofield's voice sounds like Shuggie Otis?

In addition to the same timbre, there's that little bit of "strain" in the delivery that's really musical and cool. Considering that most of Shuggie came when he was a late teenager and Schofield's older than that, it's almost like we're hearing Shuggie if he had recorded in his early 30s.

Different guitar styles, of course. But it's nice to hear Shuggie being channeled, even if unwittingly.

Maybe a little. Good news is Shuggie is supposed to release an album in 2011.

Wow, that is good news. I never expected...

"Here comes Shuggie Otis" is one of my favorite discs.

Considering his last album dropped in '74 I'm hoping it actually happens. But everything he touched is gold. The Snatch and the Poontangs stuff is crazy good, he tears it up.
