Anyone else go through all of your "prized" possessions and assign a dollar value to them so your wife or kids won't be taken advantage of if or when you ummm shall we say.....play the final road gig ?
I don't have much but I'd hate to see someone get a steal on my 67 TR4a and my guitars and amps. How about two prices. If ya really need a quick sale or if you just think it's time to pass the stuff along.
Geesh I'm morbid.

I've thought about it. Making a "don't take less than this" list for the bigger items. I don't see it as morbid. It's all part of planning for when you're gone.

I never did it officially but I have overall value in my head. I'm sure the real number would be higher, and worth considering as worth something. It's really not much though, looking at the big picture.

I have certain pieces that I have told my friends and wife about. Gear that is meant for a certain friend. The plan is to have them purchase it at a great price and give her the $.

I agree with this sentiment.. Im not sure I have any thing that is really "prized" and would bring in a large amount of money but Id definitely hope that she wouldnt take $500.00 for my PRS DGT.

My grandmother had placed stickers on EVERY thing in the house. We discovered this upon her passing. It was very helpful on the furniture because we knew exactly how old it was and who made it, etc. Whether for insurance or inheritance I think it is a good idea.

I haven't done it to date but I think about it & ought to get off of my butt.
Don't my wife only getting $1200. for a guitar worth $3k used.

I have a document in our safe deposit box that I update yearly. It has stuff that she needs but doesn't have any interest in knowing right now.
There is a gear section with relative values listed and suggested places to try to sell stuff. It also says don't accept the PayPal Gift Option:p

I see that as OK. Some swine might swindle someone.
