One of my favorite bands and biggest influences, Toad The Wet Sprocket, is releasing an album entitled "All You Want" which is an album of classic Toad songs revisited, and re-recorded. They broke up in 1998, and have only released a live album since then, so this will be a real treat for us fans. The band also says that they will be debuting some new material on the road this summer with hopes for a new album! These guys had a profound influence on how I layer guitar parts, and that it didn't have to be so damn angry and loud all the time. More than a few times their influence has presented itself in my own songs. I am so excited! If you don't like it, please don't bash. If you feel the need to bash...

Nice, I like those guys, nice vocal harmonies. I really liked the Acoustic Dance Party EP.

I'm with you 100% on Toad the wet sprocket, one of my favorite bands ever if not THE favorite. Great songs, great mix and guitar tones. Also really influenced me on how I write and approach rhythm playing. I wish they would come out with an album of new material. Are they going on tour? Wonder if they will come up my way, I'd have to see them as I never had that opportunity.
[edit] looks like all the dates are back east... ugh, they are from Ca, how about some dates here.

I've always said that if I could give a nut to sing like anyone it would be Glen Phillips. This is great news.

Definitely. I have followed and liked Toad since I first heard that song in '90.
Good band.
I saw them live in 1994.
Great show.

Love the music. They played a few live shows around LA lately. I haven't been to them, but I heard they were good. Looking forward to new music from them.

used to be a huge fan. finally got a chance to see them at an HFStival in 93ish. they were the only band of the day to have tech issues and their entire set was pretty much a wash. either we couldn't hear them, they couldn't hear themselves or some combo of the two. i was terribly disappointed... violent femmes saved the day, however...

Toad the Wet Sprocket is awesome. Dulcinea in particular is a near-perfect album in my estimation. Never got a chance to see them live, but I did see Todd Phillips solo. Toward the end of the performance Nickel Creek (who was performing elsewhere in town that night) dropped by and joined him on a few Toad songs! I tend to think of Glenn as singing everything in Toad, but the other guitarist Todd also sings a few songs (including one of my favorites, Inside). As I believe Glenn noted on the In Light Syrup album, their voices are incredibly similar! :D

I wish they would come out with an album of new material.
From their website: In addition to playing their catalog of fan favorites, they have been hard at work on new material for what they hope will be their first new album in 15 years, and will debut several new songs on tour!

How these guys are not in the 'One of the best bands ever' hall of fame is a mind boggling travesty.
The industry should take 10% of the sales from crap like Britney Spears, Black Eye Pea, Justin Beaver, and Myley Cyrus and give it to these guys and other bands that deserve it (King's X, Dada). Now wouldn't THAT be something?!

Love this news. My desert island band. Good to see I can buy some new stuff and the money will go straight to them as well.

Great band. Still not sure if I'm going to download the MP3s or buy the CD "All You Want" but one will be mine before the night is done.
I was never crazy about the idea of bands re-recording hits but realizing now how much this method benefits the group I fully support it. One of the reasons I bought Squeeze's "Spot the Difference."
