Looking for recommendation for a trem pedal. Old school fender vibe preferred.

I really like the Stigtronics, I have owned most of the trems out there.
Great pedal

Diamond gets all the old school sounds IMO; extra points if placed after a verb pedal :dude

After a verb you say!? I shall try it right now.

Right on, bxlxaxkxe: I love mine after various mod stuff too. Something about the Diamond Trem; it can really integrate with your signal.

The depth knob automagically creates awesomeness!

Moollon Trem is a beautiful contender. Really natural sounding!

T-Rex Tremster for $199, though I don't know if it's in the olf Fender vibe.

Anyone have a suggestion under $250?

Fulltone Supa-Trem has a fantastic old school warmth with switchable waveforms and hi-lo speed. I LOVED mine, but really needed tap tempo, so I moved on the the Diamond. Other that tap, the Fulltone was excellent for me and just fantastic sounding in general.

Easy to find under $150 used.

I just picked up a Monster Effects Swamp Thang this week. Mam let me tell you it is awesome. Super thick, rich and swampy sounding trem. Very brown face fender. At 9 volts it was almost TOO murky. I run it at 12 volts now and I really don't think I'll ever look for a trem again.

Catalinbread Semaphore. Still my favorite, after trying/owning many.

Looking for recommendation for a trem pedal. Old school fender vibe preferred.

Then I highly recommend the Fulltone SupaTrem. An absolutely gorgeous sounding Trem pedal, simple layout, excellent features.

Demeter - sounds just like a Fender - but with greater range.

Another vote for the Supa Trem. Had one and traded it due to GAS and now have another that isn't going anywhere. Best Fender sound out there IMO.

Are there any under $100 that'll get that mellow fender tone?
Thanks,

I bought a like-new Cool Cat Trem from the Used Guitar Center site for $19.99 and couldn't be happier. I prefer it to the trem on my vintage Fenders.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that most tremolos are the same. They make your volume go up and down. You can hire someone to turn your amp up and down and no matter who you hire it's going to sound pretty much the same.

There are some exceptions: Tap tremolos, tremolos like Cusack and Empress that give you odd and complex waveforms, and the Fuchs' Creme de la Trem which adds a subtle pitch modulation to really capture the bleeding in the original Brownface circuits.

Thanks,

The Malekko Trem is amazing and you can find used ones for around $70-80. New they are $100. Seriously, it is a great pedal and sounds as good (if not better) than a lot of the more expensive ones IMO. Has just replaced my Supa and Demeter as my main trem.

my faves have been
Diaz Tremadillo (best chop trem)
Voodoolabs 4 knobber
MP Mello Yello

love the Line 6 trem - it does three different kinds, has tap and does panning and envelope triggering so it speeds up and down like a leslie --- really nice to mix into a chorus.....

.... uh which has nothing to do with trems come to think of it :o

Cbread Semaphore, it has everything I need including the most excellent tone.

Exactly! This was originally built for Ry Cooder cause he wanted a Fender Trem but wasn't using a Fender Amp. My Demeter does the perfect Slim Harpo/Excello records sound. Also cops the Born On The Bayou CCR sound even tho that wasn't a Fender Amp.

Yet another vote for the Fulltone SupaTrem - had one on my board for 5 years now and couldn't be happier.

I get very similiar sounds from different tremolo pedals, all good. Some are easier tweaking is all. For instance with a little more working at it and maybe combining with other effects you can get a cheap trem to sound expensive. Plus 1 for Danelectro on that.

+1 on the Dano...I think they're $40 new. Great value/true bypass! Hard/soft mode!
