Camera Experts - Canon PowerShot A590 IS?

I'm looking to buy a camera to use for taking basic pictures of food for food blogs, scenery for multi-day hikes, and other basic photos. I'm a total beginner at using cameras and I can pick up the Canon PowerShot A590 IS on Ebay for ~$130. I like the fact that there's both a manual mode and an automatic mode. Anyone have experience with this camera?

Thoughts?

I have an older Powershot A540 that has worked very well for me. I've taken it all over Europe and the Middle East and shot some amazing pics with it. While being a bit outdated, it is still a solid performer for casual pic shooing.

95% of my work has been with the auto mode. The bundled software has always worked and worked well, but you will need an additional photo editor for deeper work.
