Smaller cabinets

Does anyone have experience with smaller amp cabs? I am looking to go to a 1x12 instead of 2x12. JDesign has a thinline cab that is smaller, Jeff said they hit the sweet spot sooner with smaller wattage amps.

Does anyone have experience with these or cabs that are smaller in size?

I have two cabs for my JTM45 that were made here in Germany by Audio Amp Company...one is a 1X12" and the other is a 2X12"...both are lightweight with a floating baffle board and have Celestion Gold speakers in them...

The 2X12" is louder and has more bottom end but not by much...it sounds like really full like a 4X 12" cab...the 1X12" is not as bottom heavy...brighter and more articulate and really sounds huge..plugging both in is like a punch in the gut...I asked if there would be a difference in the bottom end of the 1X12" when compared to the 2X12" cab. the maker said not if they are made correctly using the right materials...he is right...

If I would have ordered the 1X12" first I would have not ordered the 2X12"
