Morgan Vs Vox!

Ok I have a dilemma. I love Vox, and Have loved Vox forever and the 2010 Vox ac30 Hand-wired amps are awesome. but now I have discovered Morgan Amps and the ac20 sounds fantastic (at least from what i can hear on the badly compressed sound files that are youtube). I heard the Ac20 deluxe and thought "this amp sounds beautiful!" So now I don't know If I like the Morgan AC20 deluxe better, or the Vox Ac30 Handwired better. someone help me!

I haven't played the newest HWAC30, but I did play the newest HWAC15 (which was great) and I don't think it sounded better than my buddy's AC20 deluxe. They're different - the AC20 isn't an AC30 or AC15 -- but it is a fantastic amp and Joe Morgan is a phenominal builder/customer service agent. :) It's just him.

I called Vox once to find out where I can get some OEM parts for my AC30CC2 and they couldn't help me (nor sell it to me) or tell me where to get it.

You're right - the Morgan does sound beautiful. You ought to play the Dual 40!

If it were me (and money was no object and I had to choose one of the two) I would choose the Morgan for (1) Tone (2) Service (3) Resale value. The Vox has the tone, but the other two aren't quite there.

I have been in a toss up between boutique Vox ish clones... and a current Vox amp.. went to go try a Vox ac15HW, and it blew a fuse, so we tried another one and for some strange reason it did not work...... SO I felt that was the amp gods saying get another amp...
If you have a sweet sounding ac30HW (which I have played and they sound GREAT) stick with it..... They seem to be great amps, and if its held up in sound and reliability, no need to look toward greener pastures..... you could always just have both :/

I have had a few Vox types, including the Ac30 hand wired that Bruno consulted on, a Snake River, etc. Morgan Dual 40 is best for me. Joe Morgan' service is 1st class too

And the Ac20 is said to be voiced like the normal channel of the Vox, but to be honest the normal channel on the Morgan sounds the way I think the Vox should sound.
I could just get the duel 20/40 but the single channel on the Ac20 deluxe sounds so complex and versatile that I don't think I would need or even use another channel.
I was thinking I would just get both the Vox and the Morgan for stereo effects but now I'm just thinking I will just get two Morgans ;-)

There's no comparision, the Morgans are tops. A Vox "hand wired" still has a PCB in it. Open up a Morgan and see what's inside. I'd rather eat Spam for a month and get a Morgan than have a recent Vox. Fortunately his prices are reasonable so the choice is really easy.
