I just sold my Guild dred because it was just too big and uncomfortable for me to play even though it sounded so lush. But anyways, after playing a few Taylors I find the 214 is pretty decent sounding (nothing like the Guild, unfortunately) BUT it was very comfortable to play so it would get more action then the Guild.
So to the question: Im looking for used. Should I ever get into a live acoustic setting would a better sound come from a mic'd 214 OR a 214E (or ce) plugged directly into the amp.
Now, the expression system on the 314 is supposed to be pretty good I hear, but the 214 I dont believe has the expression system. I heard the 214e only has a piezo?
I can get a used 214 for around 400 bucks. Then I'd need a mic eventually (not sure which one) and also an amp either way.
Or should I save up a few hundred for and get the 214e/ce? :bonk
