I am looking for a floor standing drill press..... used. Looked at new models just to get an idea of what retail pricing is. Some models are advertised as a "Wood Working" Press.
Is there a difference between a press you would use for Metal vs. Wood.?
I am definitely more of a metal user. But, is there really a difference.?

Sometimes the only difference is in the table.

There should be different pully sizes for different speeds so I don't see it being a problem.

I think a metalworking press has more slots in the table for clamp mounts etc...

Generally, yeah. If you plan on using it for metal, make sure it has enough power. Shouldn't be an issue with a floor press, though.
