I read somewhere that a guy was using a channel switcher to switch between the Normal and Top Boost channels on his custom classic. From my understanding the AC30 isn't a channel switcher. Is it possible to somehow finagle a custom classic to do so?

A/B box was the ticket on the old ones. Not sure about CC's, try and see.

Yep I A/B'd my CC2! I ended up running pedals instead through the normal channel... While I loved the top boost on the CC2 I really had to crank it to get a nice smooth overdrive which would create too much stage noise. I was always having to turn down so I ended up using a few od pedals. If you can play loud, go for the ab box.
