Not a lot of pics on the net of Shad's work, So I'm interested in cosmetic's, I ordered a Quinn 183# preamp and it just killed (Now owned by TGP'er Sfarnell) so much I ordered a full amp shortly after. It will be an SDO that's a cross between #183 and #102 (the Ojai circuit) 100w (4xEL34's),Verb, FET, and built in Dumbleator. Now that the SDo is discontinued please post pics of your Quinn Amps (especially the Dumble type's)!

Quinn 13th Floor. Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, David Lindley, to Dimebag, and Molten modern metal!!!! Built in Tube buffered effects loop, footswitchable FET Boost, AND PAB Boost. Cleans are wonderful, and this has more gain on tap than you could imagine. The low and medium gains deliver as well. I like mine a lot, and Shad has been a good guy to deal with. Nice way to get serious tones in a unique package. Color me impressed.

I dig mine. I forget all the features but its a skyliner model with HRM and non HRM switched. Reverb with mix, tone and dwell controls. Dual presence (clean and overdrive). Negative feedback switch. Monkey knobs for adjusting HRM.

I had a killer Quinn Brown Deluxe style.....with custom touches. That was what Shad started with, before the Dumble madness. LOL.

I never saw that Sweet Thunder in the Emporium?!!! Dang it.

That deal went stealth-No Emporium..

I could have just shipped the head back to Shad but the growing undercurrent of folks interested in his rigs is clearly impacting build times and I have enough stuff to play with. I figured, let's share the Thunder.

With the new ST- we're going all NOS glass and maybe some blonde Tolex for yucks-

i'm pretty sure i'm going to get the new church mouse combo for my jazz and fusion gigs. it looks and sounds like the perfect amp to have in the NYC area- lightweight, versatile, works great with pedals (and axe fx's :)), and full of great tone. shad seems like a righteous dude!

Aproaching nine months.....I'm getting a little impatient.....

We'll have to get together so you can check it out. After this I'm thinning the herd if it lives up to my expectations.

I have a sneaking suspicion.....it will!

Deep low end, big headroom, and the clarity that only a 100 watter can deliver.....yummy!

Hang in there. The SSS circuit is the most time consuming of the D circuits- Will yours be a traditional spec or will you have a OD section?

Mine was longer...but worth the wait. It'll be what you want.

I'm trying it's just been longer than I hoped for. Working in manufacturing in a precision job shop this is a pet peeve of mine. Anyway......

Fairly close to original spec, single channel with some tweaks.

- Hi/Low filters (per original)
- Foot switchable FET
- Built in D'lator (should help tame it??.....)
- Voicing switch to go from Blackface to SSS tones
- adjustable bias on back

That first vid clip sounded GOOD.
There is definitely something to using humbuckers in a Strat.
Plus, that rig is killin'.

Here is mine - if I remember correctly - early 80's type specs and switchable HRM. Amazing amp with tons of tone....when Shad gets a moment it is heading in for some refinements - just let me know when Shad :beer

Awesome specs, the BF to SSS switch intrigues me and the built in d'lator is a great idea. I know you've been waiting a long time for a SSS build of any kind, hopefully we'll have a little get together to compare/contrast SSS's once yours is built.

Here's a couple of clips of my SDO. Mine was voiced a bit different from the standard SDO. More of a "rock" vibe:

Great clips Skippy. You running that EP3 in front of, in an effects loop through the amp?

Anyone else have one of these beastly amps? I'm still waiting for my build.
