i put a national resoletric jr. on hold today, anybody have one? looking for plusses and minuses from an unbiased opinion, thanks!!!!

she's a looker!

Hey Quickdraw,

I had one. I didn't realize it was a solid body with just a counter bore for the cone, I was expecting some chambering. Acoustically it was very quiet as you might expect. Plugged in it sounded more P-90 like then reso-like.
It sure looked cool though.

I had one of the first flavor of Resolectrics. Cool vibe, but not really dobro-ish-only-electric, if that makes any sense. It did a nice jangly thing, but otherwise wasn't really all I hoped it would be.

did either of you have the acoustic pickup? or only the p90?

I had the acoustic pickup plus the P90. Made for a nice blend. But it doesn't sound like a dobro, which really is all about moving air, not moving strings.

i was just looking for an electric with a p-90 in it and the jr. seems to fit what i'm after. how much should one pay for a new jr?

I had the one with the P-90 and the acoustic/piezo blend and a flame maple top. I didn't realize there was any other one available. I sold it on e-bay for $1000 about 5 years ago.

thanks for the info Ron! BTW you make some beautiful guitars!!!! the trade deal was not to my liking, so looks like i'm puttin my martin 000-15ce up for sale. we'll see how long it takes to sell the martin
