Is it a worthwhile read?

I love the website but don't think I'd get much out of the magazine. The folks there love really hoppy IPAs which are much too strong for me. More power to those who drink them, but that seems to be what they like.

Never been huge into IPAs either. I'm really loving Porters these days though.

I myself would stick to the website. I spend a lot more time here than there and I don't think I'd even subscribe to TGP magazine.

I check out the online reviews. The stronger the flavor, the higher reviews it gets. The average reviewer does not care if the beer is actually palatable. They just realize after the fact that their taste-buds and wallets were raped and want to make it seem cool.
Coors Light: Pale, straw color with a weak head. It smells of grass and barn yard odors with a slight hint of urine. Taste is a strong corn flavor riddled with urine and feces.
Coors light with a 1/3 cup grapefruit stirred with dandelions: Rich amber color with a perfect two finger head, the site is as majestic as a two headed unicorn bathing a newborn. It smells of citrus, rose petals, vanilla, cinnamon, capricorn, cardamon, with an ever so slight hint of earthy and otherworldly notes. The taste is almost impossible to describe in human words, english or otherwise.
The "bros" reviews are usually pretty fair and reasonable, so the magazine might actually be worthwhile.

The online reviews are a bit like harmony central, you need to put the reviewer in context as best as possible, the more extreme the language the more you should ignore what they say.

The HC reviewer Rip Glitter taught me pretty much everything I know about gear and he never minded getting extreme with language.

I'm a founding subscriber (#41 actually). Subscribed sight unseen the morning they anounced it a full year before it came out. Basically I get it because I support what the Alstrom Bros have done for beer. The mag is good and getting better, but its still all about the website. Going on almost 9 years as a member of the site.

I was a founding member too. I thought the mag was pretty good but didn't renew after the 2nd year because I found I was just not reading them. They have some good articles though.
