What company would you pick and what would be on your board?

Just for fun!

Boss.

Tuner. DD3. RC3. SD-1. RV3. GE-7 and I could get by just fine.

Of course, I would have no problem adding an RV5, RE-20, TR-2, and pretty much their entire product line.

Edit: I realize this isn't a fun answer haha, but if I had to limit myself to one company, I'd go with the one that covers pretty much all my needs.

If real state is an issue-- MXR

Strymon.

Timeline. Capistan. Brigadier. Lex. Bluesky. It would have to be an ambient band.

Solid Gold FX. Stuff I have on my board:
Superdrive
Nitro
Sonic Boom (custom-built Triangle Muff)
Agent 13

Stuff I would need to get:
Electroman (in place of Replica)
Stutterbox (in place of Empress Trem)
Formula 69 (in place of Musket Blunderbuss)
High Octane (In place of Mantra, although the Nitro might fill this slot and I could not worry about a clean boost)
Funkbox (in place of Small Stone)

I'd miss tap functionality and a few fuzz variants, rotary, flanger, and wah (although my wah was modded by SGFX). -E

I could probably do it right now with Homebrew. But T-rex as mentioned earlier, would be a good deal. Dr Swamp, Mudhoney 2, Replica, Alberta, I would be set. Plus look good.

EHX rox sox when it comes to modulation but they blow with OD/Distortion (for metal). If my playing required no boosting, I'd consider them. Otherwise, the working man's pedalboard would have to be MXR.

I more or less will...
I plan to make two small 'boards, w/ the first one having all Empress pedals - their eq, trem, delay, and phaser powered c/o the Burkey Flatliner. Anything else needed, would simply be added to the front (Eternity if not using a two-channel amp or a wah if a funk gig or a looper in the fx loop or a vibe, etc. - gig dependant)
2nd 'board will be more of a catch-all of more out-there effects and will change 'round as needed (Effectrode Tube-Vibe, A/DA Flanger, Lovepedal Wall of Noise, RonSound OverEasy Fuzz, etc. - power c/o Pedalsnake.)

JRBain
06-08-2011, 12:03 PM
Arrgh... If not for the wah it would be Boss.

But I think it has to be Dunlop/MXR/Way Huge/CAE. If I'm allowed.

And, given unlimited funds, I'd probably go for...

Fuzz Face: Hendrix or Bonamassa
Wah: CAE
Comp: Custom Comp
Phaser: Script Phase 90 or Phase 100
Boost: Angry Troll
Boost/OD: Pork Loin
OD: Green Rhino
Dist: '78 Badass
Flanger: 117r
Volume: Dunlop
Delay: Carbon Copy x2

Some compromises there, but it would sound great, no doubt.

06-08-2011, 02:19 PM
For me it would be Maxon. Between Maxon and Hermida, those brands dominate my pedal boards now.

I figured most people would say Boss, but for me I generally find a pedal that I like better than what Boss is offering.

Fulltone:
Fulldrive 2 (I prefer pre-mosfet) -> Fat Boost (1, 2, or 3) -> TTE.

That's basically what I use now, other than that I think my old Micro Amp does a better job for me than a Fat Boost, and I use a DD-2 for delay.

Without question, Earthquaker Devices.

White Light OD -> Ghost Echo -> Chrysalis OD -> Dream Crusher -> Hoof -> Disaster Transport -> Ghost Echo

Lovepedal or CMATMODS. Been hard to choose lately because I was going for an all-CMAT-board, but Lovepedal has some stuff I can't live without.

Lovepedal: Superlead, Kalamazoo, Kanji Eternity, Pickle Vibe, and 2 Echo Babies.

CMATMODS: Brownie, Super Signa Drive, Analog Phaser, and 2 Deeelays.

BMF Effects or Barber. Possibly BMF because they make a chorus pedal and multiple fuzzes; Barber only makes one fuzz.

06-09-2011, 09:54 PM
without a doubt Fulltone

wah -> deja vibe -> one of their fuzzes, all of them sound great -> fat boost -> fulldrive -> OCD -> supa trem -> TTE

I use most of their stuff current (wah, deja vibe, fulldrive, ocd, supa trem) also have a bunch of their other products that are currently not on my main board (69, 70, soul-bender, fat boost v2, plimsoul)

ahab

This is my setup now except I use a Plum Crazy FX Treble Booster instead of the Fat Boost.

There are a lot I'd rock but the tops would probably be Fulltone, Keeley (if mods count), Analogman, or EQD. It would be cool to do something like an all BJFe/Mad Professor board or a Cornish board, but there would be sounds I'd want missing. Or since it's TGP, how about an all Klon board, just stack like 5 Klons ;)

With the exception of my tuner, my current gig board is all MXR/Dunlop stuff.

-Hardwire tuner (I guess if MXR made a tuner I'd have to get one to complete the board)
- KH-95 Wah
-Custom Badass 78 Distortion
-Script Phase 90 with led
-Stereo Chorus
-Carbon Copy
- Smart Gate
-Power supply is a DC Brick

Probably Empress, because their effects are so diverse. Superdelay, Multidrive, Tap Trem and Phaser sound like they should cover everything. (Everything I do, anyway.)

Although, depending on my mood, I might prefer Earthquaker: Monarch, Hoof, Sea Machine, Disaster Transport, and Hummingbird.
