I have a Riot and think it's great, but I've been intrigued by the Plexortion. From the demos it sounds like the Plexortion has a more authentic JCM amp like sound and more control because of the 3 knob EQ instead of the single tone knob.
Are they similar enough to not make it worth trading? Anyone try both and compare?

I liked the Riot, tons of gain.
The plextortion is really really good. The EQ, vintage or modern switch, low noise and the Hot Rodded Marshall distortion are what sold me on the pedal. I am always going for the early VH sound and this pedal does it, I was also able to get a very convincing Andy Timmons type tone but without all the hiss and noise.
The Riot was to similar to my ancient DS-1 so I ended up letting it go.
Recommend you pick up a Plextortion and do a side by side.

Yeah, I've been using my Plextortion for some Andy Timmons type tones as well. A fat crunch and a singing distortion for leads.

I ended up keeping the Riot. It's still happily sitting on my board.
