Your thoughts on this vintage mid-level electric?

They are very cool guitars - consistent with other Japan-made electrics from the early 80's. Very Hamer-esque.

that is a very cool guitar...but then again there not many guitars out there I wouldn't mind owning!

I had an Eagle and a Falcon from that time period. They were well built ,solid sounding guitars...that I wish I still had!

Is 650 too much for that guitar (the red one, first post)?

I had a Wings series Washburn way back when - Great guitar.

I always loved the look and feel of them, but something about the cutaway design made it very difficult for me to reach the top couple of frets.

Never seen a red one before - that's beautiful!

Lotsa Brass on that one. Brass was very much "in" at the time. A few of their models from the time had small brass rings as fret markers.
I believe they reissued a similar model a couple of years ago, didn't have the same sound as the original.

So... is 650 too much?

The same factory mademade Vantage, Westone, Aria and Electra. You might find a comparable guitar under one of those brands for less. They also made Epiphone before they moved to Korea.

I would say that is a little high price wise. I have seen some Washburn Falcons go for $400 or so and I think that was a little more guitar. I had one back in the day and it was an excellent guitar. Don't remember why I sold it (or even remember selling it for that matter).

I'll play... I think for the right buyer in a big market it might bring that (ebay). On local CL deals (Seattle) I've seen similar MIJ Washburn solid bodies start in the $700's and move down to sub $500's before they seem to disapear (in this crap economy). Just my observation.

That is probably a Matsumoku factory guitar. I have the bolt on neck version of it here, I think mine is called a hawk.
I refinished it rather psychedelic, wish I knew how to post a pic of it.
