Hi,
I am looking for suggestions for p90 pickups. I'm looking for something that best replicates an old Les Paul Jr. I need the soapbar version as opposed to the dog ear style. What are the best vintage sounding p90's and were the original Gibson's alnico or ceramic? Any help would be great.

Not to be a dickhead but your best bet is to use the search function.
Having said that, the faves around here seem to be Lollar, Harmonic Design (I believe splatt uses them currently and he has some sound clips up somewhere), Fralin, SD, and I believe Wolftone is making a P90 now too. Poke around the websites... they all have soundclips (which isn't to say that I'd necessarily trust them as a 100% accurate representation).
Based on word of mouth I went with Lollars on a custom guitar I'm having built by David Myka. He seems to be fairly flexible and also seems to be quite vintage-tone savvy.

I recommend Pete Biltoft's Vintage Vibe P90'S. Excellant construction, great sound and amazing price. Also I was dreading the P90 hum, not with these.

Hi,
I've used Pete Biltoft's P-90's with the blade posepiece, and it is outstanding! Also really like Lollars and Harmonic DesignPeace,

I have a Duncan Antiquity with an aged A5 and I have a set of Lollars. Sound pretty much the same. Antiquities usually come in A2. This was a custom shop special.
A2 Antiquties are smoother, Lollar A5's have more bite. Depends on which direction you wish to travel.

How much is an old original Gibson P-90 pickup? Are they expensive these days?
Been using Fralins in my LP Special knock off; sounds absolutely killer. No mud, output rivals 'buckers.
another vote for the lollars, fat yet clear.... if that makes any sense, cant tell you how it fare vs vintage P90s, but these ones are the dog's bollocks :D
hope that helps
