Look like a promising chimey low output option. Anyone try out a pair?

So they got rid of their old minihumbuckers? I guess I'll hang onto the pair I've got then.

I believe those are the same as the ones they've been custom winding for us for the last few years. If so, they're great pickups. A little warmer than the Lollar Firebird minis and a little brighter than a Deluxe style mini.

are they deluxe-style or firebird-style in their construction?

to quote Steve Blucher, they have a standard Dimarzio humbucker construction only smaller. :) He also confirmed that these are the same pickups we've been using for the last three years. We've used LOTS of them and been very happy.

Wow, sounds real promising! So Jim, does their "chimey" description of the neck pup fit the bill? I'd love to have a neck pup with some of the low end warmth of a humbucker and attack more like a single coil. Actually considering using the neck model in both positions.

Here's a clip I recorded with one yesterday. I think it should give you a pretty good idea (at least within the confines of my squeaky clean playing).

I find them to be a very happy mid-point between standard humbuckers and single coils: more clarity and brightness than a typical humbucker and more focus and warmth than a typical single coil.

Beautiful! Thanks, I think it will be a great fit.
