View Full Version : Am I going to be a bit disappointed with a Timeline if I run it mono?

Almost all of the demos are in stereo, and it seems some guys who don't have stereo rigs are running them into their computer amp simulation for the purposes of the demo.

I'm sure it sounds best in stereo but can't help feel that when I get one and run it through my single amp I'll feel disappointed.

Is it just me?

:)

no you wont, how can you be dissapointed if you havent tried it??? hahahaha

now, if you then went to stereo and back to mono, you may miss it.... but hey, it will still be great.

Yeah but I WILL try it into the Logic amp simulations. Perhaps I need to practise restraint and not try it......

Great question. I've been wondering this, too. It always bugged me a little bit that so many (all?) of the Strymon demos are in stereo, considering how few people actually run stereo rigs live. Studio, sure.

Well, rather than repeat myself based on previous threads, I'll simply say it sounds great in Mono too.

I think it will never sound so good in mono compared to the stereo demo on the Web which could be considered as misleading due to the general way this pedal will be used.

But anyway, it is a very versatile pedal and it will sound good in mono, just not that different from other pedals.

Misleading because they used stereo outs? Give me a break

I guess that's the main question, how different from other pedals when stereo is not a factor.

I wouldn't say misleading. But it would also be nice to hear some demos in mono, considering that's how most people will use it.

I use mine in mono and it sounds good. Would love to run stereo...but don't want to deal with the extra amp setup and micing.

I have plugged mine into the reverb channel of my Fender SRRI, mono. It sounds really good!

SOunds fantastic stereo or mono. I ran it stereo yesterday with a stereo out Orbit flanger. I also ran the Orbit the way they show at the end of the owners manual in mono and it sounded great.
