Not that you don't already know this, but I just recently spent some time adjusting the pickup heights in my B1 (w/ Seth Lovers), and I really improved the tone of the guitar. I used it at a gig last weekend -- big difference.

Oh, and nice guitar (I have the Ford inlays in my RF  )

Just got it today. Outstanding...! The pictures do NOT do it justice. Flawless build, finish, setup, and fretwork!

I'm lovin' these Fralin Unbuckers... I'm not really a humbucker guy, but these are much more articulate than typical humbuckers, and they split very nicely. Sounds very cool into the Chieftain! The neck pickup sounds awesome, full or split!

I also like the 2 V/1 T control setup... greatly enhances tonal flexibility, IMO!

The true test, though, will be in a gig situation. Unfortunately, I don't have one 'til Weds, Aug 3...

I'll let you know how it goes...!

Hey, Mike...!

I used it at rehearsal last night -- straight in to an early silverface Pro... sounded awesome!

I prefer the single coil mode, but it's great to have the 'bucker mode to fatten things up a bit, when necessary. The single-coil sounds are anything but thin... they sound remarkably like the Fralin P90s that I have in my Baker Junior, but with a tad less "hair"... The guitar retains every bit of detail as you roll down the volume, much more so than most humbucker guitars that I have played. Very nice!

The only criticism I have is the for coil-splitting mechanism, which is a push-pull pot on the tone control. I think I would have preferred a mini-toggle, like on the old Fender Robben Ford models... but I can live with this, for sure...

I *love* the 25-1/2" scale...! What clarity! I threw a set of Snake Oil 11s on there, and it played effortlessly. I still have a wee bit of setup tweakage to do, but this has to be one of the easiest-playing guitars I've ever picked up! fretwork is superb. I will probably end up with 12s, when all is said and done. Has the Sperzel locking tuners with the little thumb-screw locking mechanism on the back side. Responsive to the slightest bit of tweakage, and holds the tuning steady... certainly not "traditional", but very, very effective.

The neck is a little deep (front-to-back) -- not baseball bat deep, but feels substantial; the fingerboard feels somewhat wide, as you move up, which I really liked. Overall, a full-feeling, comfortable neck for me.

I have a gig Wednesday night, so I am anxious to see how it feels/sounds under "real world" conditions...
