Hey Jim!
I know you had a feature/review in Guitar Player (huge congrats by the way!) but I was in an airport a couple weeks ago and saw another little blurb in another Guitar Magazine. Do you know which it was? It had a small pic of a Swan toward the back that just listed features, price, etc.

I think that's Jim's ad campaign. He's had that in Guitar Player for a few months now, in the back.

It was bugging me last night so I picked up a few magazines at the grocery store and it was this month's Guitar Player as a Featured Product. It was a different Swan than the review. It was a beautiful wide flame Bubinga(?) top. Very nice.

I think it was quilted mahogany.....whatever it was, it was cool to see it in a mag :)

You're all right. It's a rotation of a quilted mahogany (CliffC's), a flamed bubinga (GregC's), and a Bolivian Rosewood (Ernie Jackson's). I ran six ads in all, so they should each appear twice. And the top on Greg's was from the same piece of wood as Shad's. Other than the extra string on Sad's, they look almost identical.

Jim,
Is that flamed Bubinga you used for the pickup rings? I dig the way the flame is chevroned on the pickup rings too! Very nice guitar.

Yes, those are from the same piece of wood. I've also got several bloodwood rings that I'm planning to use on the next batch of bubinga bodies.
