Hey all,

Just perusing the Bedroom Producers Blog, and found this nifty list of free VST hosts, trackers, and sequencers. Handy for those using Windows PC's with a series of VST plugins for modelling.

No affiliations, and I don't know the person running the blog. I've downloaded and enjoying using Cantabile Lite which I found out about from this resource.

Enjoy!

Well, if you take the time to look at the list, you will clearly see that they are open source versions, and FREE 'lite' versions of commercial products. All perfectly above board and legit. Nothing wrong here...

Years ago I found several free-VST sites, some of them really quite good. (Till I decided recording was too much of a detour for a weekend warrior like me.) Struck me that about ten percent of them were really good, which in my book is pretty cool for free stuff.

But huge caveat...I'd recommend downloading them onto an old non-networked PC heavily girded with anti-malware programs running in the background, esp the the trojan and rootkit variety. Never found anything particularly modern or adept in VST's, but boy did some of 'em need scrubbing. Crazy.

Hey Matt.

Managed to unearth some of those old links, many of which were still good. Plz beware the files though...lotta malware has been hacked and attached to these things by now. Anyhoo...

KVRAudio (http://www.kvraudio.com/)

Making Music (http://making-music.blogspot.com/2009/05/100-latest-free-music-making-software.html)

Scuffham Amps! (http://www.scuffhamamps.com/product)

TAL Plugins (http://kunz.corrupt.ch/) Creepo URL, eh?

Beyond that I've since lost track of most of my old sources, (from old TGP threads) which have surely migrated or been superseded by now. But for sure try just Googling "VST Plugins." You'll get tons of hits.

Request Dept.: When you find good ones, how 'bout posting links to freshen up the list?

PS Dept: Check the links in this old TGP thread (http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=222561). Took me a minute to find it among my subscriptions.
