When performing live, what is the highest number of pedal board "stomps" you make during a single song?

1...

...only if I kick on a lead boost and even that is becoming rare these days. Most of my playing involves manipulation of the guitar during the song, not my pedals.

4 or more.
Probably more than that, for certain Yes, Genesis, and Rush tunes we cover. Sometimes I have to turn one box off and another on simultaneously, with the same foot.

I used a reverb, 2 different delays, 2 different drives and a fuzz for one tune last weekend. And that was with a compressor on the whole time. :)

I usually have modfactor, and roctron xpressions to wet speakers along with one or two dirt pedals to the dry, so 2-4 is my range (not actually 150).

I'm assuming you mean stomp as in turning a pedal on or off, vs. how many pedals are on. I'm also the lead singer, so I try to keep them to a minimum. I have one original song where I turn on a chorus set to an organ like sound for the two verses, and then turn it off for the chorus, bridge, solo, etc. Then I turn an od/boost on for a pre-solo riff, add an Octavia for the solo, turn both off going into the bridge, and then turn the od/boost back on for the ending riff. If you count each stomp (to turn on and to turn off the pedal) guess that makes 9 stomps. But, most songs it's just a boost or dirt pedal for the solo, if anything. Delay is always on, and if I'm using dirt (other than a solo boost), EQ or compression, it's usually on for the whole song. If I wasn't singing, I might get more creative and use different dirt sounds for vs. and chorus, or add trem to a certain part, but it gets too distracting when I'm already trying to entertain, sing, remember words, play rhythm, switch to lead, direct the band, etc. I have my rig dialed in so with any of my dirt pedals I can vary the amount of dirty with playing dynamics. So if I need a clean or cleaner vs. and dirty chorus, I just do it by picking lighter.

I stomp all the time. If the song changes to a new section, I've probably touched my board. It's not a rule, though - there's a couple of songs that have the same pedals throughout.

Wouldn't adjusting my volume pedal be considered the same as effecting an effect pedal? In that case, add about five more "stomps" (pedal sweeps) to each song!

Why isn't there an option for 10 or more?

Do taps for tap tempo count? If they do then a few of the songs we do in church I've got phaser on/off, speed change up down at least twice, delay on/off once or twice, tap tempo (4), lead boost on/off=14?

OTOH, most of the time it's just lead boost on/off and maybe tap tempo.

I'm stomping all the time. I use a shit ton of effects & I like it that way...AND I'm the lead singer. I use effects for atmosphere, to change the feel from section to section, to boost, to delay, to reverb, all that. I'm a tap dancer

Since I sing, I try to keep it low. Usually 2 or 3

Most is 5 if you could my always on MXR 108.
OD > OD > EQ > Phase > Delay.

We've got a few songs that require me to have clean, crunch, lead, tremolo, and delay all at different points. I'm probably stomping more than a dozen times in some songs.

So glad I've got a programmable switcher. I couldn't live without it, really.

A song with two choruses, which is basically minimum, is already 4 clicks right there if you have, say, clean verses and dirty choruses.

This is one of the reasons I started this poll; I'm looking to buy or build a programmable switcher that is simple and easy to use. I particularly like the setllist/song name feature on the Line 6 HD500. The next level would be the sound within any given song name. Like many of you, I need more than 4 different sound settings.

Does the tuner count before the song starts??? LOL

I'm a 3 to 5 stomp kinda guy... but we cover a bit of U2 in there which can raise that number. There's two stomps for solo boost, one on and one off. Usually a stomp or two for chorus or vibe on/off for some texture at one point. And there may be a stomp for some delay during a solo too. I'd say that can add up to 5/6 on some songs, but only 2 stomps on other songs.
