OK, totally did not expect it, but I picked up a Fat-Boost 2 on Craigslist for lets just say "the right price" and figured I would give it a whirl somewhere in my chain. First things first, 78' Tele Deluxe>Fat Boost 2> Candler C66 (Z route 66ish).

Ummm, turned this thing (at low-medium volume) into an angry, angry 5e3. About to throw the germanium side of my BYOC tri-boost into it and see if a crazy horse gallops into my room.

I have been one of the many who have had and sold, had and sold, etc., lots of Fulltone stuff. Liked it enough to buy it, but fell out of love after some time with it. I have a feeling this one is staying (taking bets on how my words will taste in a month).

Anyways... That is all. Honeymooning with a pleasant surprise this afternoon.

I thought that about my Fat Boost 2, too! Great pedal. "Lost" it in a trade... Still think about it. ;)

I haven't played the FB2, but find similar results with my FB3.

Yeah, they can be had for a "song" compared to even non boutique stuff. I did try the tri-boost and gallop that crazy horse did. I think I even grew mutton chops...

I should mention, I have not tried 9v, just 18v.

Just out of curiosity, where abouts have you been setting the gain and tone knobs for this tweed-like tone?
