The past two nights when I go to bed my legs start driving me nuts. They feel like they want to go for a run or something. Anyone else ever get this. Any suggestions. I've had this before, and eventually I end up falling asleep, but tonight I had to get up and move around.

Wait for the posters who will tell you that you're a lazy slob who doesn't get enough exercise...
I find that certain medications trigger this for me. If I take Benedryl, and don't fall asleep right away, my legs keep me awake.

Talk to your doctor about getting some blood work, there is a correlation between RLS and low iron levels.

I've had it for years. It has a hereditary component. Dad and Granddad had it. Talk to your doctor. Requip and Ultram have completely relieved my symptoms and I now sleep like a baby. It generally will not get better on it's own but may come and go over time. Exercise has NOTHING to do with it. It's a disorder of the brain involving dopamine.

My wife's doctor prescribed Ultram for her, and it worked wonders.

Benadryl is absolutely evil for my RLS.

And I'll say this and not meaning to be an a-hole at all: Unless you've had a serious bout with RLS, you don't know with what others are dealing. RLS is crippling in that it throws the entire body out of sync. A bad case will literally drive you nuts.

Chalk another ailment up to inflammation. Cut out gluten, take some iron, do some yoga stretches nightly, and you wont need the pharma solution.

Take some good high-potency Vitamin C, maybe start with 500mg Ester C, one tablet 3 times a day with your meal. The Ester C is easier on the stomach than regular C. The C helps with circulation and may help your restless legs, plus the C is good for many other things.

I know nothing about nothing but I have heard two different standup comics do bits on the potential side effects list of different RLS drugs. Capping with the obligatory, "If I have to choose between 'explosive diarhea with fanting', or wiggling my legs I think I'll just shake a little."

See? SEE? I told you they would come...

I'm 30 and I get it every once in a while. If it doesn't go away after a while I usually go into another room and just jump around like a madman to try to tire them out and tire myself out too, it usually works.
