Fired up Line 6 Monkey today and noticed that Line 6 has released USB drivers for Lion....two days after Apple released the OS!!!

I am very impressed with this! Well done Line6!!

I also feel I should publicly say well done to them as I publicly gave them shit for not releasing working Snow Leopard drivers for nearly 6 months after the OS's launch.

But...

I have to say that I think that anybody who updates to an OS as soon as it ships should not complain if their software and drivers don't work.

I am waiting to hear how it shakes out for the bleeding edge/early adopters.

totally agree, but 6 months???

it not just people who upgrade...what if you have to buy a new machine? etc.

I've never "had to", but I would not. I'd wait till I knew for sure what the issues were going to be. If I was getting work done with it

I've been doing this thing with Macs and PCs for decades now, I'm not learning this lesson the hard way ever again. When I worked in a multi-machine office, I'd upgrade to the newest best latest Mac OS on ONE machine... and not any others till I was darn sure there would be no problems... but now I have only my one Mac.

Also, if I'm in the middle of an important project and a new version of your software comes out... I'm not installing it till I'm done.

Lastly, you can NOT pay me enough to beta test anything (okay, I'm sure you can pay me enough if you give me ridiculous money).

Someone posted on the L6 forum that they did the Lion update and all of the software and drivers work.

Lion and Line 6 work fine together here. More than I can say for my Focusrite Sapphire PRO 40 firewire sound card. I think they've just worked out what a Mac is!

Mmm Lion "beta" or whatever they call it was available for developers for months... so it's not like L6 did it in a couple of days... just sayin'.

No, I know... Well aware of the developer program.... I am a member myself.

They were just as aware of what was coming with Snow Leopard and it took 6 months from launch to get stable and supported drivers.... This time it was 2 days.

Man, can someone say well done to a company without the negativity creeping in?
